He'll never get a lot of PP time on this team. He is right now because of all the injuries. He just has to continue what he has been doing, positionally sound, taking the body, blocking shots, and a confident, authoritative clearing attempt or pass out of the zone.

I like that his performance hasn't suffered by playing with lesser d-men. Its good to see him elevating the play of the lesser d-men around him.

He will get plenty of PP the rest of this season, as Coburn and Meszaros are done. And depending on who they bring in next year he may see PP time by default.

Meszaros shouldn't even be thought of in next years equation.

So he CAN hold that candle then?

Under those conditions yes. He can definately hold that candle.

Not the same pens team... They would steam roll us
- Philly1980

they might not have Crosby ... Iggy might not fit in as well as they hope.

You never know. If they somehow sneak in I'd give them a 50-50 shot at beating the Pens.

Only way would be to test their whole machine approach. They could beat them if they get them off their game and in their heads.

If they try to go toe to toe in terms of skill, they are done.

You thought they played good last night? Or tonight?

Think they can take the pens bruins in the first rd?

- Philly1980

Def not the Bruins. Maybe the Pens if we get lucky and they have another mental breakdown.

The Boston game was better than this game. We played well this game but had some patches of bad play. The end result was great due to their continual battling and not giving up, which I love.

Anyways How does everyone think we will do against the Habs? im a little woried

I like Iginla, I think he's been a class act, and an honorable player in his career. Not a big fan of how he held the Flames hostage. He cited the opportunity of playing with Crosby as the reason for going to the Penguins. Would be some kind of poetic justice if he plays 45 seconds with him this year.

He held the Flames hostage? Was that a gun he used to get that NMC? It's his fault they were too stupid to star rebuilding two years ago?

Buy or sell ? Going to be interesting either way. Good to see g lead like a captain ( makes big mistake) then puts team on his back. Been waiting all yEar for that. Bryz with a overall strong game too.

Absolutely, this season. More long-term I think they bolster the blueline with a little more offensive punch in the offseason. I think Read or Coots on the point on the 2nd PP unit is good enough.

Overall, I like what I see from Schenn this year. Kimmo, Schenn, and Grossmann are the foundation I would build the rest of the d core around next season.

I don't take joy in seeing any player injured. That was a brutal shot to the mouth Crosby took. With his concussion history that has to concern the Pens a great deal. I think Crosby will return for the playoffs, but who knows. Very tricky injury. Depending how long his jaw is wired shut, he's going to lose a bunch of weight and won't be able to work out.

According to the Pens it is not wired & may not have to be.

I am all for making the playoffs, cause anything can happen.

I just dont want to become the Flames and have giroux become iginla. Too good to get picks to help but never bad enough to start the rebuild before your star ages out.

I'm a cautious buyer. If I can find top 4 D man who can help beyond this year, and without giving up any of the kids on the current roster, then I do it.

There's just NO WAY we're a seller being just 2 points out, imo. Even if the odds are still against us.

Well Feaster is a moron, but Iginla kind of gave him no outs this year. If he doesn't trade him he risks losing him for nothing.

That's Feaster's fault, not Iginla's.

Guy killed himself for years for that team. They're the ones that thought they could compete with a team that finished 9-12th every year

Yep. I don't like forwards playing the point on the PP. Too much of a risk to give up quality chances.

Schenn has been much better than I anticipated.
