All because Foster wouldn't let that big slapper go yesterday.

Better that than sitting Lauridsen...I mean what else is he here for, except to shoot.

Agreed. Let Lauridsen play. I'm all for letting young guys gain experience.

Why rush him, they can let him stay in college for 2 more years to develop.

It was as much to shake things up as anything else. Clowe's been really having a rough go.

Interestingly, SJ has almost $55 million committed to 14 players next year. Burns bring significant offensive potential from the blueline, but at $5.8 million for another 4 years is something to think hard about. He doesn't have the greatest rep in his own zone, but a d-man who can generat a line rush is pretty intriguing.

No worries, its all pretty good conversation. I wouldnt be throwing them away, and I wouldnt be going crazy if they stayed with the team. They arent useless. It would be them I would look to if the team was looking to trade, or needed cap room, to bring in more consistent well rounded talent on D, and the kinds of forwards this team needs imo. (see hypothetical lineup in my previous post)

I agree with you to a certain extent, but why not get to the root cause of the problem? The GM is handing out these ridiculous contracts before players have shown true consistency and solid play. He's the one who started the cancer so-to-speak. If you want a culture change, you get rid of Paul and possibly Peter, depending on the new GM's outlook. The Flyers have a rich history of overpaying and part of that is Snyder's influence/market they're in. That's one of my biggest gripes with this franchise-the lack of pay for performance in favor of pay for potential.

I can believe it. That was nasty looking from TV. Those players were right there in front of it. Man that was ugly.

I didn't see it but was it like the Napolean McCallum or Joe Theismann injury?

He just landed from jumping and right above his ankle just snapped. You could see the bone and leg just dangled. Straight nasty.
