I think your sister wore out the entire team.

Hopefully their new STD's won't slow them down too much.

Nice not having to worry about Iggy, still can lose to anyone though. Gotta keep the foot on the petal.

Exactly - just like they did last night. I missed the game, but even the highlights (and Kreugers comments) reflect that.

Really nice puck movement and confidence. Top line is just beautiful right now.
Hopefully a glimpse into what things can look like here in the coming years.

They also didn't seem to let the bigger body Canucks get under their skin.

EDIT: However, is it too much to ask to get someone to put an elbow up on Bieksa? I hate his (frank)ing face so much. Very punchable.

The Hawks have had so many fantastic players and just a great culture.

The late 80's/ early 90's teams used to scare the crap out of me. Those battles in in 90 and 91 (maybe 88 too) were amazing. Just nerve racking.

Denis Savard, LARMER, young Roenick. On and on. Easily could have won a cup if not for the Oilers and the Penguins.
Perhaps theyll get a chance to vanquish that this year vs the Pens.

They have a shot this year for sure. I still have nightmares from the 1971 final against the Habs, up 2-0 in game 7 , Hull hits the post , Habs score from nearly centre ice, Dryden robs Pappin in last couple of minutes, I didn,t go to school for a week!!

What's going on in the Oil land? Are the playoffs a possibility this year? I'm rooting for you guys. The Oilers will always be my second team!

All bets are off when you get to the playoffs. LA showed that. A hot goalie can take you far. Carolina made it to the finals due to the other teams having key injuries and won the cup when the Oilers lost their goalie. Tampa actually lost game 6 but the goal didn't count and they went on to win the cup. In the 90's Buffalo lost a key game when a goal was scored from behind the net, through a hole in the net.

As for a run, Edmonton is a hot goalie away from making a push. Habby could take them far against the right match ups this year. Realistically, they could do it next year if they add two top 4 dmen and a top goalie. IF the top 6 play the top line plays the way it did last night and Hemsky/Gagner play the way they did at the start of the year.

But they need a coach and a GM that wants to win.

Yea, but LA's also the biggest team in the league. Playoff time, whistles are put away. EDM's phenom PP won't help and the team'll die.

pfffft, everyone is better than hall, I am sick of hearing about the Oilers wunderkids. They all suck ass yet are gonna be good enough to give the Oilers contract problems someday and there is no way they will be able to sign/keep them all.

It's mind boggling... Kind of like Kadri's sudden rise to hockey greatness in Toronto.

The theory would be to trade them and use the picks to get someone better. I am the last one to say we need more rookies on the team. My vote is for Mark Striet and Phaneuf. Toronto likes Gardiner and he is doing well and I am sure they would love to part with Phaneufs contract, plus he is a home town boy. Striet is not signing with NYI and is an amazing dman. You have to watch him live to truly appreciate the positional play of this guy but he adds offense and strong defense. Both would and they both don't mind mixing it up. Striet at a UFA might be cheap to get since talks have broken down with NYI and Phaneuf would be a salary dump so they might go for what we could get from Whitney, Smid and Nick.

Then we play Justin with Striet, Petry Phaneuf and Fistric with Potter and Peckham being our 6/7 guys. Next year HOPEFULLY that spot will be filled by Klefbom. I am also not against picking up Kaberle for our number 6 dman off waivers. Can't be worse than potter.

Anyone suggesting the Oil get Phanuef needs to be female dog slapped until they wake the (frank) up!....

that and also for suggesting peckham belongs anywhere near the NHL, even in a 6,7 dman role
