i'm sure we could debate back and forth about it but i completely get the logic about not wanting okposo for stafford and don't fault darcy if he thinks he can do better or go in a different direction.

if you look at the prospects that are available in the draft and who we have coming up in the next year or two, i could totally see why you wouldn't want to be stuck with another guy for more years, even if his contract is okay.

how about this, we'll wait until the end of wednesday and if stafford is still hear we can talk about how stupid or smart it was to not take okposo?

He was always going to get a 2nd. Murray's trade helped Leo fetch more than just a 2nd. The 5th turns into a 4th if they win a playoff series. I'm okay with that.

but Pitt didnt give up very much to get him. Pommer's price tag will be more not because he is a better player but because we dont have to trade him, Calgary had to trade him and on top of that only had 3 teams they could trade him to.

again, the baseless statement alert is firing away.

you don't even like okposo you just dislike darcy and clearly stafford too, and i get it, i really do, but again, just because a gm turns down one trade for a guy doesn't mean he loves the hell out of that guy, it just means the trade wasn't a comfortable fit for him and he'd like to make another trade. i'm fine with that because it means for all of his failings, darcy is actually thinking over the moves he makes in a thoughtful and potentially productive manner.

i can even see goose for bieska not making too much sense because bieksa is costly and gets hurt a lot and we have young dmen coming up. plus we got girgensons out of the goose trade adn that's pretty good imo!
