so trade him before he gets his NHL development thats a smart idea. last year he got to play in the run and gun style of wilson, this year the systems changed and he was injured during the training camp so he wasn't able to really learn the system. why give up on a kid so early? were you saying the same thing about kadri too?

Don't give up on Jake. Leafs need to be patient with Gardiner like they were with Kadri cause one day Gardiner will be a real beauty. He's shown last year & and at times this year just how good he is on the offfense. When he gets better defensively he's going to be an all star.

I would alternate sitting him with Koztka taking turns sitting out for the rest of the season is what I would do. Otherwise If the Leafs are going to continue to bench Jake, than they may aswell send him back to the Marlies. I just hope Jake & his agent don't get so pissed off that they say they want out of TO.

Leafs have been playing Liles to showcase him for a move out of town. Come Trade Deadline that pressure to play Liles (if he isn't in Calgary or Vancouver already) will be gone. Gardiner will slide back in.
