Good idea but than who on the D sits? Do u send Gardiner down to the AHL for the rest of the season & risk seriously pissing him & his agent further to the point where Gardiner will want out of Toronto?

No longer waiver exempt.

Been saying Lupul is the Leafs best player for well over a year now. Right now he's up there with Kadri, but RIGHT THIS SECOND I gotto go with Lupul until a team can actually hold him off the point sheet.

It's crazy to think that while Kessel's better than he's ever been right now, he might be the 3rd best forward on the team.

Lupul and Kadri are a toss up for best right now. Lupul's not just showing skill- guy's got so much hockey-smarts that he should get a phd. 13 points in 6 games - (frank)ing crazy.

Very well said. Completely agree.

say what you want but this Leaf team is built for success in the playoffs

1) Team Toughness
2) Balanced scoring
3) Above average special teams

Experience is the only real factor.........

youre probably right, i could definitely see centres like staal and stamkos playing as wingers. a top line of crosby, stamkos and perry would be unreal. if i was picking a roster and putting those guys as wingers this is what id like to see for the forward lines:

Perry - Crosby - Stamkos
Staal - Tavares - Giroux
Hall - Nuge - Eberle (if they develop as many expect them to )
Richards - Toews - Bergeron
Duchene/Staal 13th

- MetroidPrime

No Spezza?

Kadri has played well this season....but he's not on the same playing field as Lupul yet.
If Kadri can do this in a non contract year and over a full 82 game season....then he'll be in the running for leafs best player.
But not after 33 games

To be fair, who takes a back seat to him?

Surely not Tavares, Staal, Crosby, Toews and Stamkos.

You should be quite ecstatic today... after all, the Leafs did in fact "poop cocks" on the Sens.

If Kadri can do this in a non contract year and over a full 82 game season whilst on the 1st line facing opposing team's 1st line players....then he'll be in the running for leafs best player.

What does that have to do with anything?? If he's been the best player over 33 games, then he's been the best player.

John Tavares will be the second line centre. Bergeron will be a winger, as will Richards and Staal, likely. Crosby-Tavares-Toews-Getzlaf.

Meh, he's only had 2 hatties this season. Call me back when he has six, otherwise he's clearly bust material.

Well think of the different mind b4 the season started. Now even back than I said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to involving Kadri in a Lu deal. However with Reimer still uncertain, if b4 the season started, had Gillis been willing to take just Bozak for Lu, back than mabie I would have considered it, But everything has changed now. Bozak to me has become as essential part of this team & Reimer has solified himself as a #1. Even though many Leaf fans don't see Reimer as a true #1 which I disagree but I tell them this, he is playing like a #1 so he deserves to play & he will be the guy for them in the post season.
- GCHonda

Bozak is a decent filler for #1...but he is not a real #1, lets not kid ourselves.
Reimer has been decent as well and deserves a shot to play....but I really dont have too much confidence in him...he just seems shaky.
If the leafs are hard up for Lou....get him in the summer...he'll be so much cheaper.

If you trade Grabo, you need another centre in return. On another note, Ryan Hamilton has looked much more comfortable in his second stint with the Leafers. The first time he got called up he had the deer-in-headlight look about him.
- fifty__missions

Well if you trade Grabbo & re-sign Bozak, next season have Bozak playing with Kessel on one line & on your 2nd line have Kadri as the #2 center. Bozak is more of an all around player than Grabbo. If down the road the Leafs trade or sign a UFA who can be a #1 or #2 , than Bozak moves to the #3 center slot. I think McClement has proven MORE than capable of being a #3 center.

I like how he was a bust at the beginning of the year despite ending the year 5 goals in 21 games..... that's bust material right there.

It has alot to do with it when you claiming he's the best overall player on the team.
Consistency and longetivity have to go into the mix. Common sense.
He's been great for the leafs this season...at times he has been their best forward...but also over an 11 game stretch JVR was their best forward...since coming back Lupul has been their best forward.
So no he hasn't been their best consistently over 33 games.
If he keeps this up, continues it over an 82 game season......then we can start labelling him the best.
IMO, he's not at Lupul's level yet.
He has been damn good.
