Bozak for a 1st is fair considering it won't be a top 15 pick. Also since when can Mayson Raymond land you an impact player?

I've been the biggest supporter of Bozak to the canucks and would love it to happen as part of the Lu package. With the season he is having I doubt the leafs part with him as they are desprete for the playoffs.
As I said yesterday grabowski has an equally horrid contract. Lu for Grabowski and Gunnersson or 2nd. Leafs perhaps add another prospect. Could even throw in Ballard and komi
As for Clowe, if the price is right get him to play with and mentor Kassian.

To be fair, Paul Gaustad was worth a first last year.

Was he "worth" a first last year? I know that's what Buffalo got, but...

EDIT - I would suggest that Bozak and Raymond are equally valuable, depending on what a team needed, I just don't believe that either is worth a 1st round pick, as both are UFA at season's end.

Paul Gaustad does bring a bit of grit and is good on face-offs; however, he is a band-aid boy (14 and 56 games played the past two seasons) and definitely not worth a first round pick any way you look at it. Just my $.02

Some years players values go way up, some years down I don't get the NHL. Iginla was only worth a 1st and couple bums while last year gaustad ( is he still in the nhl?) got a 1st.

You have to also take into consideration that Bozak gets much more ice-time than Raymond (I believe it's usually in the twenty minute range). Additionally, Raymond only gets second-unit power play time - if he were on the first unit I am confident he would have more goals/points than Bozak. As it is, he's not that far off (18 vs 23)

So I played some poker yesterday, was up over $500 until this hand.

I had 7-7. Flop comes 10-6-6 rainbow. In 2nd position I put out a $35 bet. 2 callers. Turn comes 9. checked around. River a 7.

1st position bets $50, I think awhile before raising to $150, 3rd folds. 1st goes in the tank before going all in. I call, he shows me 6-6. Just like that lost all my profits.

Ouch... nothing you could do about that, although a shove over a river raise would make me think he had TT or 99, 88 could have gotten there for a straight, or else a lower full house, like T6/76/96 ... especially calling on a rainbow board. Who was the original raiser or was it a multi-way limped hand and what was your read?

Bozak's a 2C. 20+ of the picks in the first round won't be 1st line players.

Definitely worth that.

Agreed about bozak being better then 2/3 of the guys in the draft. Hell he's better then the last 3 guys taken 1st overall
If bozak was signed for beyond this season then your comment would maybe suggest you know what you are talking about, but given the fact that you may have him for about 10 games it preety much proves how bright you are.

If you can sign him to a reasonable contract extension and don't trust your scouting or don't like this draft class then for sure. Also has to be an organizational fit, short-term and long-term with the roster and cap. Gillis definitely likes Bozak though.

Its still inconclusive. My buddy is a doctor for team Canada and has done studies and is part of the global panel. They dont appear to prevent, may lessen effects.

I was being reasonable, you're just being a jackass. If people ever question why I hate canucks fans .

If VAN's first round pick this year, makes it to the NHL while VAN is still a contender(in the next 2 years), then they should keep it. Sounds likely

Also I didn't say anyone should trade their 1st for Bozak, I said Bozak was worth a 1st. But congratulations on being an ignorant (frank). Really unlike VAN fans

I seem to remember many Canuckleheads indicating they didn't want anything from the Leafs roster and how all of the Leaf prospects were lousy..... and that there was no way Vancouver would trade the "top 3 goalie" .....

my my how times have changed.

at least you can joke about it... I'm guessing Gillis can't - nor will his replacement.
