No, they just lack the ability/patience to draft or develop young goalies or defenseman and end up overpaying in FA/trades. Also, you guys lost in 2011 to Brian Boucher, Vezina winner.

You mean like shutting out the Flyers in games 1 and 4 when the Flyers totally outplayed the Sabres in those games in 2011? Or like stealing basically every game en route to the Silver Medal in 2010 for the US?
If the Flyers had a goalie half as good as him, we'd probably have won at least 1 cup by now (Bryz sucks, haha, etc.). Miller is not the problem.

- jmatchett383

His problem has been masking the Sabres real problems. He's the reason we haven't completely bottomed out

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe nobody likes him and leave him hanging out to dry. Maybe the team feels like they don't have to play in front of him. Maybe he is the problem. Maybe the team looks worse without him. We won't know until he goes. Why wait?

Dead on here. When the Miller to Tampa rumor came out two days ago we on this board looked at the stats of Miller vs Lindback. If you put Miller on Tampa they are at least a 6 seed right now. There is a 23 save difference between the two based on number of shots vs SV%. Fact is while he maybe not be elite. A word that gets thrown out there way too much. The elite goaltenders of my age group (I'm 29) are Roy Broduer Hasek. Miller is an above average goalie in this league. Hall of Famer probably not unless he wins at least another Vezina and a cup. If you look at the average teams since the 2004 lockout if you swap their goalie with Millers almost every team would be better off. It's been said alot on here the last few days the only reason why the Sabres haven't gotten a top 3 pick is because of Miller carrying this team and doing his best to hide the flaws this team has. If I were Darcy I'd move him now

Miller to Tampa for their first a prospect and Connolly
Myers Stafford and a third to Edmonton for their first and Gagne
Pomminville Enroth Regher for Bernier and Toffoldi and a first

Let the rebuild begin. Giving us 4 first round picks 3 most likely in the top10 in this very deep draft is a good start

I'm 100% on board with moving him. I just know for a fact that in 10 years, people will look at him differently than they do now, same with all great Buffalo players.

Yes...I was agreeing with your point about the Flyers. It's obviously not true about Buffalo (trading for young Hasek, drafting/developing Miller and Enroth). I was just stating that, when you said the Flyers have had poopty goalies, Brian Boucher was able to beat the Sabres in 2011.

In 10 years you can remind them why he was moved and that it was the right thing to do because while he was an excellent goalie, he was a diva.

that i can agree with, but at the same time i can't possibly imagine how frustrating it must be to play as well as he does and not get anywhere because the team in front of him is garbage and has been for a while.

I think it's possible he's a bad guy to have in our locker room.

Pick one or the other, and add a 2nd rounder. You're not going to get a possible Calder winner and 1st for a guy that you're actively shopping.

Myers Stafford and a third to Edmonton for their first and GagneR
- Stripes77

Pretty even deal, probably a slight edge to Edmonton.

Pomminville Enroth Regher for Bernier and Toffoldi and a first
- Stripes77

Again, pretty even deal.

I still think the Sabres should hold on to Miller. Hardest position to fill is a top-level goaltender. Enroth and, if you did trade for him, Bernier have looked very good, but so did Cory Schnedier before he never had to carry a full season's load, and he's losing time to Luongo in just a shortened season. The grass isn't always greener.

Jerome Iginla? Ray Borque - that's tough poop! You got drafted by this team - are getting paid - whatever - that is a bullpoop non leader argument. His role is to be a leader (nor is Pommer) to do his job, regardless of how bad the team is in front of him and lift the people around him up instead of whining and acting like a spoiled female dog. That's why I want him gone, because he is not without fault and he needs to admit that, help create an atmosphere that brings players together, and work towards a positive goal - which I don't think he has done. The team is bigger than its players, he doesn't buy into that, I don't think ( can't be for sure) - but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's usually a duck.

Okay, fair enough. Can you mention specific things he can do to accomplish this besides trying his best in practice and being a rah-rah guy in the locker room? Much easier for skaters to lead by example than goalies. Maybe his media rants can be silenced; however, I'd rather have a guy and call out teammates if he thinks they're not helping the team that be hush-hush. Really, we'll give you Briere for him if you want him gone that badly.

Along with with every Tom, Richard and Harry's predictions.
A lot of "people with hockey knowledge" picked the Sabres to be in the playoffs.
I don't see anything amusing about his picks.
I am sure every other persons predictions are spot on right?
Just stop already.

Pommer said he has a Ntc and hasn't been asked to waive it. But other reports have said he can only submit a list of 8 teams he will not be willing to go to... Now to further complicate some reports have said it must be submitted at the beginning of every year while others have said the team must request the list from the player when they are considering moving him... Can anyone uncloud this situation for me thanks.... Just joined a few days ago this place seems like fun
- kmhachey

he has been asked and he did...I think he has a limited NTC anyway.
