Agree. You have the chance to save 1.8M on the cap for an identical player, its a no brainer. I'm willing to bet that NYI offered straight up, and Darcy wanted something like Stafford + 3rd for Okposo + 2nd and NYI wouldnt budge, so Darcy never pulled trigger. - theblueandgold
Without reading through all these, was there rumor of a Staff/Okposo deal out there somewhere ??
I dont get why Darcy wants to blow this thing up by offering Pommer and Miller on the block?
We have enough solid prospects that we could be a solid team in a year or two...not 3 or 4
Heck lines next year alone could look like
Van Hodge Pom
Foligno Grigo Ennis (ennis needs to be back at wing...not realistic center option)
Leino Ott Foligno/Drouin/Free Agent/Whatever
X X X who cares
*Staff gone for some towels and skate guards
Myers Hoff
Sekera Weber
Pysyk Mcnabb
I really dont see a major problem here...granted not a cup contending team but for sure has a chance at cracking the playoffs - HAMgerber
Ennis needs to go back to wing why wait let me guess he is to small right. who ever came up with the the idea that small player are better on the wing is a myth there is no fact to that. besides Ennis is doing pretty damn good at center right now.

Homer claims through his source, that about a week ago he couldve dealt Stafford for Okposo straight up and Darcy couldnt do it. - theblueandgold
If Darcy isn't relieved of his duties before the draft I'm going to sit around my house all day on draft day and slowly stick toothpicks under my fingernails.

The whole structure of this confuses me. I cant tell if you want Ennis at center or wing?

Pommer said he has a Ntc and hasn't been asked to waive it. But other reports have said he can only submit a list of 8 teams he will not be willing to go to... Now to further complicate some reports have said it must be submitted at the beginning of every year while others have said the team must request the list from the player when they are considering moving him... Can anyone uncloud this situation for me thanks.... Just joined a few days ago this place seems like fun - kmhachey
He won't be asked until Darcy has a deal set in place
To do so before hand would just be disruptive, ESP if he then couldn't work out a deal

Do you think Darcy would trade Pommer within the division though? I just don't see him doing that. And honestly, Pommer is one of those players that I would hate to see in the division. I know the argument is that if the player was that good you wouldn't trade him in the first place, but I would still hate it. - HonkFortheGoose
As much as it sucks to see Briere on Philly,
I don't really care where these guys get traded if its a good enough deal
I'd prefer it be out west,
But if Ottawa or Boston or whoever has the best offer, I'd go w that...
Hopefully Darcy feels that way too...
We need all the help we can get!
No guarantee any of our guys re-sign w who we trade them to anyways
