Dude, Dont know where you get your info from but I have never seen a single report of him being in even the same discussion as Klefbom.

Well he's either the best defenseman to lace em up or a top-4 two-way guy. I don't think Klefbom can be mentioned in the same breath as Klefbom.

7. No. 3-4 Defenseman – players not quite good enough to play on the top line or pairing on a regular basis, but still possessing enough talent to contribute offensively, defend with some authority, or competently play the goaltender's position for long stretches.

Defense: Filip Kuba, Christian Ehrhoff, Henrik Tallinder

http://www.hockeysfuture..../prospects/oscar_klefbom/

8. No. 2 Defenseman – players with definite skill that might be just a cut below elite status, but still possessing All-Star potential.

Defense: Dan Boyle, Duncan Keith, Kimmo Timonen

Legitimate question, not being sarcastic or anything: Where does it say they'll be 3-4 or top pairing?

Also I said around Klefbom's level, not on. I'm a huge, huge Klefbom fan but they are fairly similar in value

If you'd please read my reply again:

Now, while Ekholm is definitely a prospect of quality, he is not an "extremely good prospect". `Probably around Marincin's level considering their comparable stat lines on comparable teams. Their respective stat lines look like:

Marincin at age 21: 59GP 6G 17A 23P +/- 16 PIMs 40
Ekholm at 23: 48GP 6G 15A 21P +/- 6 PIMs 22

Considering one has played more games this season and has played in NA longer counteracts their age difference, wouldn't you say? Now, looking at their stats like that, wouldn't you also say they're fairly comparable prospects? I certainly would. Ask yourself: "Would a trade of Hemsky for Marincin be fair value?" Once again, I would say so. The only remaining factors to take into account are if each player suits each team's needs, and whether or not each team can afford the transaction. Considering that the Preds are a low-income team, they'd likely want to eliminate one of their (if not their only) bad contract(s). Paul Gaustad is a guy that I look at being a perfect fit on the third or fourth line for next season before we'd likely need to buy him out. Then add our likely high 2nd to the deal and I think the value balances out quite evenly.

I'll say it again, though. I have no idea how Gaustad has played this season and how much he's been factor because Preds games bore me to hell. As such, Gaustad's value to me may seem FAR lower that what it may to a Preds fan.

Sorry.

You've also got to factor in that for 30-some games, Marincin was partnered with J Schultz on a team featuring Ebs, Nuge, Hall.

Hemsky's value's not high enough to get them both, I agree.

EDIT: Also Ekholm had to transition from Swedish game to NA game after he lit up the SEL

In the rankings. Klef is ranked an 8, Ekholm ranked a 7.

Klef is a mid first rounder and is 19. Ekholm is a 4th rounder and is already 23.

where they were drafted isn't that important if they develop well. NASH just isn't rushing him to the NHL like EDM will be for Klefbom. Don't know how I feel about it. Might stunt his development like MPS and Lander

RNH
Gagner
Horcoff
Belanger

Lander(career AHLer)
Arcobello(career AHLer)
Green(career AHLer)
Vandevelde(career AHLer)

Where are these 8 centres you're talking about? Farm team centres? Everyone has those

- TheNugeIsHuge

We have Rieder, he is great... no wait we traded him for someone we use to have and will never play in the AHL.

Trading Gagner is stupid but Hall can play center if we ever need.
