Dear Richard,
You are the absolute worst blogger I have ever had the pleasure to read. I have been on this site a lot since the trade deadline and you just post the most far fetched bull I have ever seen. Do the oilers want jbo? Obviously! Why wouldn't they? Its been how long since the have been to the playoffs? I'm totally certain that he feels mutually attracted to that organization considering he has 750 games in his career and zero playoff. Surely he will waive his NTC to jump ship for the oilers!
I understand you maybe passionate about the oilers since you are an oilers blogger but if I were an oilers fan id either consider your blog comedy or wish you would go write for another team. Let's face it, you have two sources... the world wide web (which anyone who reads your blog has) and fantasy island. In your eyes, every single trade made at the deadline involves Edmonton in some way sharp or form every single time. You're crying wolf for gods sake. Obviously the oilers attract the best of the best and thats why they consistently finish in the top 5 teams in the league... except for its really the bottom!
I love love love how you called out Aaron ward who actually had insider knowledge and was just as sure as the Boston bruins that they landed iggy and suggested he be fired! Whaaaat!? You had lucic going to Edmonton in the Iggy trade... lmao. What I would have given to read your blog when Schultz came to the oilers because obviously I'm sure you predicted that! You didn't change your name to guru after that? You are just as good at blogging as Edmonton is at winning! |

No. There were some idiots that wanted to trade him but ganger started as the Oilers point leader and has continued since day one. He is one of the few consistent players in the league, despite a team who is in the bottom 3 for goals for. I don't think anyone said he was as good as stamkos but at 22 he is as solid a prospect as any. Not an all star but he is a top 3 forward on most teams already.
He is also worth more than JBo straight across.
You want to fix our defense, look between the pipes. Ask yourself why a star team like Boston would want one of our extras in Whitney? Its because they have Rask and can skip a little on the defensive side of things. Same with LA. Even the Pens d is weak and you don't see them worried about changing that.
There are only 2 choices available to us. Lou or Mike Smith. Lou costs more but is less of a gamble. One of these we need. Jbo we don't. - bsteinley
Gagner is almost 24 and not a prospect. I'm all for trading him while his value is at his highest. Is size everything in the NHL? No. But his skating and his size as well as his defensive game being average lead me to being open to trading him. There is absolutely no way I sign gags for more than 4 or 4.5 mill. Take money out of it and jay bo is worth way more than gagner. Top pairing Minute munching dman. We would be ecstatic if we got him.
our second line of paajarvi gagner and yakupov has been scored on a fair bit. If you want to balance that line up you need a bigger stronger guy who can maybe clear room and cover for yak better. To me you can only keep two of the three. Yak stays 100%. Paajarvi is coming around but maybe it's smarter to trade him over gagner if we get a bit more physical top 6 lw. I love gagners compete level but I am open to trading him for the right deal. We need players that are hard to play against. Gagner isn't. And maybe someone could look up how easy his minutes have been because I'm unsure |

I have nothing against the oilers. Obviously as a wings fan they are one of my favorite teams to watch them play lol. Its not as if I dont recognize the talent in that organization... its just that the team is run by all of clouts first cousins... |

For me, this kind of sums up an unpopular school of thought that maybe some fan bases don't deserve winning teams. |

I ment since the trade deadline started heating up. If I didn't know the trade deadline was Wednesday I would have no real reason to read these blogs on here. Its funny that you wanna call me out when this guy may only call a trade correctly because he has the oilers in every scenario. I suppose since Edmonton can't make the playoffs on any given year he is all the entertainment you have. I'm quite shocked that anyone would defend this guy.

I think the coaching staff are pushing hard for him to learn to play on the other side of the puck. Which is requird and he's improved. His +\- has steadied (I know it's not the be all end all stat for it but it holds some merit). That coupled with him playing with black hole Belanger make it a bit tough to be offensive. Team sport. Can't compare him to hall or nuge, all players are different. He will come around. |

The guy is an Oilers blogger, hes not gunna make trade scenarios between 2 east teams? And hes not an insider, hes a blogger, he is here for entertainment and to start conversations. The fact that you take his blog so seriously shows that you need to get a check up. |

Disagree. Hemsky should go before yak. Hemsky should be packaged for a top 4 dman or a grittier top 9 forward. Why is it crazy to trade Hemsky? He is increasing his trade value and isn't a rental. We can even retain some of his cap hit to entice teams. |

I'm just shocked that this man gets paid to wipe his butt and smear it on a keyboard. Quit being so sensitive. Its not like I was calling you out... |

The Oilers do not need a puck mover, they need forwards that have some size.
Most of the teams have figured out that we are not going to dump the puck in and win a battle on the boards, so they clog up the middle, what is a puck mover going to do to combat that.
Besides we already have a D-Man who skates really fast and gets nothing accomplished his name is Jeff Petry. |
