Realistic trade? If the Oilers want to get in on J-Bo, who has 1 more year, and want to try to get him from their #1 rival? Probably something like:

Gagner, one of Paajarvi or Petry, and a 3rd

Absolutely it's an overpayment, but there are 3 reasons why:

1) Hes not just a rental, 1 more year
2) They'll have to blow other teams out of the water, because:
3) Big rivalry (imagine the Bruins trading Lucic to Montreal)

Personally, I don't think he's what the Oilers need. They have a good enough defense to just tweak it without going all-out for a guy who's been generally considered a disappointment for the $$ he makes since going to Calgary.

Anyone who says Feaster is a dumbass is correct. That guy has pulled so many boners in his short time as Calgary GM, it's embarassing. Here is, on the cusp of the most important transition in over 15 years of Flames hockey, and already he's half-assing the rebuild. Part of me thinks he has a personal challenge set out for himself to rebuild the team without high draft picks, or tanking or whatever "unethical" manner the Oilers chose to move forward with. Well, he's not going to have time to fail. If Burke's looking for a job opening, I suspect he can submit his resume to Mr.King in about a month.

No. There were some idiots that wanted to trade him but ganger started as the Oilers point leader and has continued since day one. He is one of the few consistent players in the league, despite a team who is in the bottom 3 for goals for. I don't think anyone said he was as good as stamkos but at 22 he is as solid a prospect as any. Not an all star but he is a top 3 forward on most teams already.

He is also worth more than JBo straight across.

You want to fix our defense, look between the pipes. Ask yourself why a star team like Boston would want one of our extras in Whitney? Its because they have Rask and can skip a little on the defensive side of things. Same with LA. Even the Pens d is weak and you don't see them worried about changing that.

There are only 2 choices available to us. Lou or Mike Smith. Lou costs more but is less of a gamble. One of these we need. Jbo we don't.
