Retarded idea to trade what's going to be one if our top d away to help another position. Gardiner is a type of def player u don't trade away. Not many of his kind in the NHL

All the trade options don't look too appealing to me. Short of getting Ott or Clarkson (which won't likely happen) were not making many if any moves. There already done. What I would do is try to straighten out the defence. We have a surplus of #5/6 guys to sell for a premium above their actual worth.

D- men
1st pair
Phaneuf
2nd pair
Liles
Gardiner- (at some pointand even first pair)
3rd pair
Gunnarson
Kostka
Holtzer
Frazer
Franson (might be some more potential here)

Farm - with NHL Potential
Reilly
Blacker
Perry
Finn

The one other guy that never gets mentioned is Paul Ranger. He's cleaning up in the Marlies, played beside Gardiner for an extended period and was probably a first pair dman for Tampa in his first stint.

We need to ship out some of the 5/6 guys because the pipeline is too full- a very nice problem to have!

You are right in the o zone... but he is one of the worst defenders... and it seems like he hasn't learned his lesson... he might lose his job to Reilly next year... and if he does.. he can no longer clear waivers.. so at some point the Leafs might have to trade him.. if he doesn't learn to take his defensive game serious...

He has enough talent to be a great two way player.. but will he?

I rather have Gardiner in the lineup at the moment than Gunnarsson, he has been making mistake after mistake and is so slow out there..

Liles is a second pairing defenseman? The guy benched in the pressbox half the year?

Liles & Gardiner are behind Franson & Fraser on the depth chart.. one way Dmen... aren't Carlyle's favs...

The way things have gone for GM Mike Gillis with Luongo, and the way things are going for the goalie market, the Canucks’ return for Luongo might make the Flames’ return for Iginla look like the Lindros bounty for Quebec

Well the other day Gardiner was walked around the same way Gunnar was yesterday... and he almost cost us some more goals against Florida...

He hasn't learned to take his D game serious... altho we all love his offensive game... there needs to be a balance.. and someone solid has to babysit him.

Alright- I'll go there. That means we have 1 top pair dman and 7 bottom pair dmen. That was my message plus Freepaulranger!

His balance is that he has the chance to create a goal. Gunnar doesnt really have that balance.

Well I would say Fraser & Franson makes a good second pairing.. great plus minus on both also...

but the Leafs need someone to play with Phaneuf.. and one to babysit in the last pair...

That's what I hope the Leafs move for.. some solid D...

Neither will Gunnarsson then, easy clearing attempt right at the opposition and bam, in the net.

Agreed... I sure hope he takes it serious... there is no point in helping score a goal if you are going to let two in the other direction.

Lu AINT comin to TO. That's just a bunch of stuff coming out of Van cause Gillis is desperate now. I've always hated Gillis. I'd LOVE to see egg on his face when
A) He is unable to trade to Lu on Apr 3 &
B) His Canucks don't go far in the playoffs.

Gilis is a baffoon. He's Milbury minus the horrible trades.
