In RC's defense, Gardiner was injured in the AHL b4 the lockout was settled. He was out for a long while & wasn't ready when the lockout ended to join the Leafs.
Much like this season was Kadri's arrival of promise, next year with a full training camp, Gardiner will be nest year's pleasent surprise. The kid's a beauty. He's still soooooooo young. D men don't mature as quickly as forwards.
