I wonder if they're sick of Ott's penalties. I can't get with moving him out.

above average during a full 82 game season?
Good question
I would say .915 and up - Stripes77
Last year 24 goalies (min 20 GP) were at .915 or better. That includes both Miller and Enroth. |

What we find is that Miller has been well, well above average throughout his career. In fact, his average goals above average per season since becoming a starter is 13.06. That puts him in the “elite” category since the lockout. Only Henrik Lundqvist, Tim Thomas, Tomas Vokoun, Carey Price and Roberto Luongo are in the same ballpark as Miller in terms of goals above an average netminder since the lockout.

pretty interesting article
theres a wealth of goaltendering information in the handful of articles posted. it all pretty much shows that miller has been doing quite well all things considered. |

GARTH: Miller: "28 On The Table. Go Get 'Em" - garth
I really dont see them moving #29, @26 or Miller at the deadline... you need to get players in return for these guys and teams that need to make moves that are in the playoffs are not going to trade quality players at the deadline.. Draft picks and prospects yes but not players. We need to get players if these guys are on the table. |

Miller is far from average, and closer to elite. I don't think he's top 3 but I also think he is top 10 |

If it is .914 then Ryan Miller did it from 08/09-11/12, or 4 seasons in a row not 7.
Like I said his stats are wrong. - dadeadhead
07-08 .915
06-07 .928
05-06 .919
don't forget, he's only looking at 5-on-5 |

The key here isnt whether or not Ryan Miller is a top end goalie (I think he is). Its whether or not it matters for the Sabres (I dont think it does).
They should move him to get assets in return. It doesn't matter who plays goal for the Sabres, their issues are too large for a goalie to hide them. In fact Miller might be the reason why the Sabres havent been able to land a lottery pick.
Miller is great, the Sabres roster is troubled, and its pointless to keep an asset like that around for 6.25M.
Miller is the goalie version of Jarome Iginla or Mats Sundin. |

you can't move him for prospects or picks, you need players in return... we can't have a three 0 four year re-build... it has to be done within the next two years

I'll bet he's back too soon. It sounded bad. - mes418
It was damage to the MCL and ACL. I believe they never actually came out and said completely torn. I think they just kept saying "damage" .
I could be wrong but still a great recovery for a player I want to see in a Sabres uniform for a long time to come. |
