Flames got a steal in the Iginla trade, the guy they traded for scored the first goal for Yale against Minny.
- theblueandgold

They have two guys who aren't even signed to their ELCs.... they could walk away with only having traded Iginla for perhaps a 30th overall 1st round pick.

WTF would we want Clutterbuck ? We already have Scott.
- buffalo 1

Not to mention a team almost over the cap bringing in 8 mill.

Guy has no clue.

You compared Scott and Clutterbuck.

They are two totally different players.

Miles apart

Yep.....I would slide Clutterbuck somewhere between Ott and Kaleta if I were to make comparisons.

Correct, I'd put him closer to Ott than Kaleta though.

I love Scott on this team. I think he should play more.
- mes418

Hes not bad for the fourth line and they should use him more in front of the net . We got much bigger problems then who can score or skate on our fourth line.Getting Clutterbug to offset moving Ott seems bizar at best. You dont move Ott anyways you build around him. That is if he hasnt given up on this team and wants to be moved.

For a Minny trade...

I'd rather do Stafford and Leo for Setoguchi and Konopka...

we would finally have an actual 4th line center.

Wasn't Konopka terrible in Ottawa?
I thought I remembered fans saying he was useless....

remember.....

useless to them is different then useless to us...

Sulzer was useless to Couver.. but became a top 4 d-man for us.

Younger version and costs 1.5 mil less. He is an RFA though.

I wouldn't move Ott.

Clutterbuck would soften the blow if they did though.

I wonder if Darcy is using this Minny exploration trip as a tool to inflate the price that we could get back from LA.

I would love to take Bieksa or Hamhuis off of Couver's hands....

They need some salary cap relief and we need a younger vet presence.

Less offensive, does fight, great on the dot, and a ton cheaper than Goose.

Also spends a ton of time in the box.

Agreed. Mistake # whatever out of about 60 this year was putting together a throw-away fourth line where the coaches are happy to give them 6 to 8 minutes a game. The most successful teams can roll a 4th line that buzzes and controls the puck and wears down a team physically and mentally. Sure, Scott can be valuable for a Boston game. But for a deep run to the playoffs (a la LA last year) you need to roll a punishing 4th line with some talent on the puck.
