Blame that on guaranteed contracts. I wish it was more like football, where you could cut a guy and the consequences were not so severe.

They will be fine... the only player of note for them to sign is kennedy and he is RFA.. they can trade niskanen... and possibly even Vokoun and will need to rely more on entry level deals and league min. They won't be the only team to have to deal with this. Obviously this year will be their best opportunity to win the cup. Not to say they couldn't win next year or the year after.. with Crosby and Malkin anything is possible.
