Dubnyuk has proven he can handle a starting role and play more games.

Schneider hasn't and flopped when the opportunity to be a starter was given to him.

Untill he shows he can play long stretches at a high level as Dubnyuk has done I wouldn't say he is better. Higher end, more potential yes, but has not done it yet.

Dubnyuk should be given more credit, and even Bernier was his backup during the lockout.

Dude, if he is playing well and confident and he's making a great first pass as your six - he's worth thinking about. He could be a real interesting risk for any top ranking deadline buyer (where he can be sheltered a little by superior talent).

The rub---and for Leaf fans---is he going to help bring down you're goals against?
If he is playing an excellent puck possession game in limited minutes he's a nice 6 to have in that respect as well but if you're hemmed in, you may be bitin your nails.

The amount of games remaining against the top teams in the conference is scary.

Real tests.

Obviously going some variation of 10 and 5 to stay in contention overall seems impossible but if we keep picking away here by showing up, showing heart and staying in games maybe it can last longer...and will serve the maturation process.
