I think Darcy does a really good job of acquiring talent, but not so good a job of putting together a "team"
Not sure if that makes sense, but what I mean are moves like letting McKee go & signing Spacek
Was Spacek a good defenseman? Yes
But we lost a physical shot blocker & our overall defense suffered for it

I like Seabrook too. I would want him before Keith. But in general, there's a lot of guys on that team that I like. Hossa, Sharp, Saad, Bolland.

Look at the Hurricanes - you can add "name" players....but without the glue guys that do most of the dirty work...you flame out....Sabres and Canes are just 2 ugly situations

It does appear he's getting better at that though
Moves like Kassian for Hogson & Roy for Ott were fantastic moves towards making this more of a "team"
If he's going to sell off the big3, and I think he will, I do have faith he'll get us some great talent back
And he's done a great job at the draft (since the lockout) IMO

I think we are pretty much going to stink for the next couple years bc we will be so young, and that prob gets him fired at some point
Do as long as he acquires a bunch of talent now,
Then I'd hope that the next guy (Dudley, Burke, whoever...) can come in and identify what pieces to continue to build around,
And trade the extra pices for the type of players we lack

For now, I think I'm just excited that he seems to have realized that we need to blow it up... He's pretty much admitted his failure, so I'm hopeful we are starting (finally) to move in a different direction

They are missing many of the same things the Sabres do not have....2-3 middle of the road decent defensman....part of a 2nd....3rd...4th lines....

Ward was average at best before the injury...I guess the idea is you can add all the Staal's, Semin's, Leino's, etc. - but if you do not have the Brandon Sutters and insert any 1-3 mil 2nd/3rd line player that exceeds expectations you want - you are going nowhere

It is all in the tone man........ I really don't care and if you ask those that know me it really does not bother me..... In fact I will be the first here to admit I do not know it all........ Generally speaking, My opinions have been mostky negative the last few years....... I hate the way this team is built and I blame Darcy more than anyone....
