Maybe Pegula and Co. want Darcy to sell off to rebuild and then they'll fire him after the season so the new GM will have picks/prospects to work with before the draft. Firing Darcy now does no good, let him sell off at the deadline and then fire him after the season. |

Craig Ramsey was doing a very good job as coach in Atlanta . When the sale on movement of the Franchise screwed him as well . The jets were set back a couple of years by those moves. But owner wanted to put his mark on the franchise with his hand selected people.

I would say getting his name on the big silver cup is his greatest accomplishment as a GM.
That is (or at least should be) the goal of everyone in the NHL (player/management/ownership). |
