exactly right you either have that in you or you don't. - sabresfandan
He got to the NHL somehow. Not by luck. His rookie year was just too easy for him. He has no clue how to be a #1 defenseman |

I feel like he is really feeling the pressure and its really getting to him. I feel if he was on a team like the bruins where he would be further down the depth chart he would play much better. - Cheeseballin

Garth - jump off the bus it is ok. The Sabres are a brutal team and need some help. The only way they are going to get better is if they get a top 5 draft pick and trade away these so called assets. At this point, we should start playing our younger players to give them some NHL experience. Regehr and Leopold should fetch us something in return. Just think - Pens just made their statement for who wants the Stanley Cup. The cap is also going down next year - so UFAs will be at a premium. Chicago, LA, Boston, Habs, Wild and Ducks all needs help. You can get a draft pick for Hecht. I think you loose Gerbe too.
I would also dangle one of the 3 if the offer in good enough - Vanek needs to be safe but I would look at offers on Miller and Pominville. The Sabres could only retain 2 of them - unless they all want to give a hometown discount. Pominville is the odd man out in my book. This team needs leaders and he just isn't one. Loyal solider - yes - not a capitan. I think you could get some great value for him. Or I'd hold onto him and trade him to the Av's for O'Reilly in the summer - straight up. - Peca27
O'Reilly can't be traded until at least February. The Avs cannot move him for 1 year after they matched his offer sheet.

I'd like to see how he responds next year with a new coaching staff. - Cheeseballin
You will get your wish as DR does not have the stones to move him. The downside is if he continues to regress next year the "just needs a change of scenery" line starts to vanish real fast. |

Couldn't agree more, the kid is living off his rookie season has been awful this year totally regressing year by year. He's a turnover machine, clumsy with the puck can't control passes. Never been a fan of him I hope he gets moved. - sabresfandan
They just paid him 10M - they are not going to trade him. He needs a summer off - get his head straight and wait for the next coach. He can be fixed and you just don't find players like Myers. We would be kicking ourselves for years if we let him go now.Chara took a while - dropped by the Islanders. Get him a coach that can coach and go from there. |

Yeah the kid has talent but lacks in so many other areas that I've just never been a fan of him, I think he'd bring a nice return in a trade too, there are plenty of teams that would take a chance on the kid. |

Pommer proved tonight why he should be here over Vanek.Vanek is becoming prone to injuries and it will only get worst and hes not worth what he will want on his next contract. That being said I really dont care if all three are moved. |

neither one should be here. If either is here a week from today, it's just another failure by the gm |

I think it's 100% mental. He has all the physical tools, he's just completely confused. One night he's physical and in the right place, the next night he's standing still and handing the puck over to the other team. I have been a huge Myers supporter, but tonight pissed me off that he had to be sat to play well |

I would keep Pommer - he is solid but he is no capitan. The future of this team (which starts next year) needs a leader. If he is willing to move to an A on his chest, that changes a lot. |

Pominville is no longer a part of the future. His only value to this team is what he can bring back in a trade |

Myers shouldve gotten a "bridge" contract.
3 years at around 3.5M.
PROVE to us that you deserve the big one. |

I've seen him do that before after losing in shoot outs... he knows losing that shootout was on him, he went for a poke check and got burned. You remember him after the Leafs gaffe earlier this year with .5 seconds remaining? He did the same thing, and in his post game he blamed himself. - theblueandgold
I think I've only seen him do that 1 other time. He's very rarely ever in the locker room before everyone else has vacated the bench. It's just the way he is. He's superstitious about it.
I'm just grateful he didn't pull a Rask though. |

Agree take the C away but keep him as a winger on the topline. His shots to valuable to us imo. |
