Absolutely....poor Feaster, he takes a lot of unnecessary bashing. He's like a whipping boy!
- The-O-G

He had to get a blue chip prospect out of the deal...Harrington, Maatta, or Despres and the 1st...
Feaster traded the face of the franchise for two mid-level prospects and a draft pick that will be 25th or later...
Leafs got Colborne, a 1st, and a 2nd for Kaberle...Tomas (frank)en Kaberle...and Feaster couldn't get more for Iggy?

As for Kipper....what Dreger said yesterday was a little different than the Kypreos tweet. He said Kipper's agent told Feaster he had better consult Kipper before any trade was made, not that Kipper 100% wouldn't report.

Does anyone think things may have change now that reality has set in? I'd like to pry ANYTHING we can get for Kipper, even if it's just a second rounder or something.

Kaberle didn't choose 4 teams he was willing to go to.

Dude it takes time...I dont want to defend the Oilers too much, but you can't expect these guys to dominate the league already. Especially without any support (or D)
- The-O-G

Understandable, but to call the Leafs the laughing stock of the league while not having the luxury of draft position like the Oilers, and outperforming the Oilers is definitely uncalled for...

Bishop is worth a 1st round pick atm. He is a SOLID goalie. Its hard
- AlfieisKing[for me] to asses Jay-Bo's value. I don't know if this year is just him breaking out of a funk or if he is getting back to form and will play like this moving forward. Jim O'Brien is a solid 3rd line center, he should be playing in ottawa. For me its overpayment to send Bishop, O'Brien, 3rd.

Whether you think its worth it or not, there is a huge demand for a top pairing dman that plays 25+ minutes against theavy competition. He's the current NHL ironman, that should up the value for the Sens right there alone & I guess with Anderson full practising, you have 3 capable goalies. Do the math & see what the market is for Bishop. Bishop & a 1st makes a deal interesting but many would debate if we need a goalie given Ramos coming this summer & we have 3 very solid goalie prospects having very good years. Many felt Broissoit was> than Subban at the Jr Canadian camp. Detroit is definitely a player & I wouldnt rule out Philly, if Flames were to carry 30% of JBO's salary about getting Couturier back somehow. But you guys certainly would peak Feasters interest if Bishop & your 1st is on the table. How badly do you need him?

Exactly...he had a NTC as well, and don't believe he gave a list of teams either, but Burke got a much better deal than Feaster did, and Iggy is twice the player Kaberle is...

You know, that's if the Bruins offer was an unconditional 2013 1st. There's a lot of smoke being blown around now that this is done. I would think Bruins needed Iggy way more than Pitt did, they should have made it so sweet, Flames could have leaned on Iggy a bit to take the best deal for the club. Something tells me evryone knew Chicago & LA were not players of the 4 team list. Iggy slipped out at the press conference that there were 3 offers on the table. Obviously LA or Chicago werent interested. Chiarielli can say what he wants, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Conroy is saying on Fan 960 that Feaster & Wiesbrod left the pressbox to discuss the 2 offers with Iggy & it could have gone either way. I doubt Feaster verbally accepted the Bruin deal. Probably told him yeah OK, we are going to make a decision tonight.
- Kevin R

The first was unconditional according to Boston. They also agreed to take the players out of their respective line ups for the night. Why would Boston agree to that if they were not told it was a done deal?

Fact is Feaster told them it was done, then had to back track beacause Iggy wanted Pit.

ya I think it's been reported now that the flames reached the deal with boston, went to iggy, he said no and that he wanted to go to pitt, boom, switch flipped.

"The return will be less because he has contract left"

Really? That makes the return, in this situation, greater. He's 29, durable, and will play for many more years. You are getting a player that can be signed and a piece to add to an ever building roster. It's not like he is retiring in 2 years. So, be smarter.

Calgary can keep JBo, the Sens don't need him and his salary...

How do you know that? Feaster says 1 thing, Chiarelli says another. You will NEVER know for sure who said what or how someone interpreted what was said. Bottom line, "players choice" and player chose PIT.

i suspect jbo goes to detroit for a 1st and a prospect. wouldn't be surprised to see the flames with 3 picks in the 1st round and a couple in the 2nd by the time its all said and done april 3rd.

Not that bad! The Sens will not part with their 1st, unless its a name like Bobby Ryan or Loui Eriksson.

Bishop and a prospect will be all that BM offers up for JBo. I for one hope we steer clear of JBo all together.. He's not what the Sens need..

Its not that I don't like him, its more to do with the fact that the Sens need a scoring winger for Spezza, not a defenseman.

As a Kings fan, I would be interested in Giordano, but he would have to waive his NMC. We could give up the following:

Any ONE of the following roster players:
Willie Mitchell
Alec Martinez
Jarret Stoll
Colin Fraser

AND

Any ONE prospect except:
Tyler Toffoli
Tanner Pearson
Linden Vey
Derek Forbort

AND

Any ONE pick except:
2014 1st round

So here's a sample trade:
Giordano for Willie Mitchell, Andrew Campbell, & 2014 2nd

Calgary gets a veteran mentor for its younger prospects, and LA gets a solid, physical blue-liner to fill in due to our injury vacancies.

I'm sure Calgary fans will say, BUT WE WANT BERNIER!!! No way any trade between Calgary & LA that happens at the trade deadline includes Bernier, as we would need a quality goaltender in return in case Quick goes down, and Calgary doesn't have any quality backups to give up.

If we're talking about a trade around draft day, then I could see a trade similar to Bernier for Giordano and a 2013 3rd or 4th happening.

willie Mitchell? we had an aging veteran defenseman with little upside in Regher... You guys are a DIVISIONAL opponent next year... Unless either side makes one hell of an offer, it'll be unlikely.
