The way he's played this year, he wouldn't be. Period. To this point of the season, he'd be a huge downgrade.

Bishop is/will be available....The Sens and Leafs wont be making a trade with each other....
- Fruitcakenipple

I don't think so either...leafs/boston make trades..it wouldnt be crazy if Sens/Leafs made trades..they should actually team up and help each other out every few years...take turns winning the cup LOL!!!!!

You do know that Kessel is one pt. removed from being in the top 10 scoring again.

Perhaps or perhaps it is posturing for a new contract. Not like this play hasnt been done before
- faceto27

Why is he looking for a new contract? He is probably retiring. Look at the way his contract was structured, falling to $1.5m next year.

The more I'm pondering this again, the more I hope the Leafs don't do it...It'd be better for them to hope he gets bought out in the off season and then try to sign him to a better contract...
- Flyfreaky

I mentioned it earlier in the thread. I took a peak in one of the Canucks threads the other day, and they are so delusional. They were talking about how taking on Gaborik, if he were available, would be no problem, and they would have tonnes of cap space to spend, once Booth and Ballard are bought out, and Luongo is traded. Then another replies that they wouldn't even have to trade Booth to make room, Luongo and Ballard would be fine. They are in for a massive rude awakening.

Luongo is in a poopty situation in Vancouver, he doesn't know from game to game if he's going to be starting for the most part. I think a chance would do him good, and I still feel he has tons of motivation to play and win the cup. That being said, I don't think there's much of a market for him out there at all, or else he'd already be gone most likely. A B level prospect/expiring contract and a pick would be all I give for Lu. You can guarantee that Vancouver is asking for Bozak though.

All evidence to the contrary.

Reimer AND Scrivens have been significantly better goalies than Luongo this year. Absolutely no question about it.

WOW what a season for the Leafs. Didn't know when I'd ever be thinking this again:

A) The Leafs & the P word????????????????

B) I hope the Leafs don't do anything major at the trade deadline.

For so many years the P word for TO was a pipe dream & I always wanted major changes at the deadline & I would curse & swear when Burke wouldn't. Wow what a difference a season makes.

I'd love Halak, but he isn't getting moved. There isn't that much out there on the goalie market, and they're so unpredictable at times it's hard to evaluate their true value.

blame it on the situation or whatever, all you want. Fact is, Reimer and Scrivens have been better. Aren't they in a pretty similar situation anyway? Neither of them have been given an undisputed number one goalie spot.

I'd still take Luongo over both of them easily, regardless of what 35 games says about their stats (way too small of a sample size to really judge anything, especially considering none involved have played full-time). I'm going by pure talent and ability in the net, and Luongo is on a different level than both Toronto goalies. All that being said, i'm sticking by not going after Luongo unless it's a good deal for Toronto.

Here's a question for you guys....if Toronto does deal for a veteran goalie, what happens to either Scrivens or Reimer? My thinking is, depending on who Toronto gets, Reimer could be moved in the deal or Scrivens could be sent back to the minors if the goalie they acquire isn't a long-term solution. Thoughts?

Dion now 2nd in goals for a D, not bad. If Lupul had played all year Toronto could conceivably have 3 guys in the top 20 scoring right now.

My guess is Scriven goes in any deal for a goaltender...Leafs wont carry 3 goaltenders and i doubt he would clear waivers..

My thoughts?

Luongo is 35 with a decade or so left on his contract. Is not perfoming significantly better, if at all, than the two guys we have now. The two guys we have now are in their mid 20's or so, make less than Luongo combined, and deserve a shot to prove themselves.

Toronto hasn't made the playoffs in close to a decade. Lets not start rolling the dice to win now. We've made progress, let's see how far it can take us before we feel the only choice left is taking on an aging goalie with one of the worst contracts in the league.

Then on top of that, we trade assets that weaken our team?

One of the two goes the other way. Likely scrivener cause he has the lower cap hit

When is everyone gonna understand, don't be mislead by what a measley return Cal got for Iggy. Iggy had a NTC. His only intention was to go to Pitt so Cal's hands were tied, that's why they got fleeced. Trust me, every other decent player available on Apr 3, the price will BE HIGH. That's why Dallas got more for B Morrow than Cal got for Iggy. Guys like Clowe, Bowmeester, Roy etc, they will not come cheap. Even if goalies not as good as Lu are available, the price wil be high. So with the prices so high, I'm not sure we'll see a rise in trade activity this deadline. Could end up being as dull as last year.

Probably just the whole scoring points thing.

Seuin has more goals in fewer games played and is +22 compared to Kessel's -3. Kessel has more assists and points, ok. how is that way better?
