Honestly, it would screw the Canucks big time. Can you really see them buying out Luongo, paying that off, and STILL buying out Booth/Ballard? Without a Luongo trade, I suspect they're stuck with at least one major problem contract. And they have no room for any of them. - Dirte
That's what I'm thinking. Bozak is doing an ok job -- decent points and good support for Phil and whoever else is on that line. I just don't see how we are going to pick up the kind of number one center everyone dreams about.
The team does need to add some strong defensive minutes. Even though I think Dions game has picked up, he is still not good enough to be logging the kind of minutes he does against top guys.
I'm still conflicted when I hear they're kicking the Luongo tires. While I don't want his contract, I do think they will need an upgrade at some point in the future. I just can't see this team going a long way in the playoffs with what they have. - Canada Cup
Get another good or great defenseman or 2 and we don't need to do anything with our goaltending...look what they have done with the pourous D we have now...not sure if there is any available..but LOU is not the answer...he couldnt win with the NUCKS and I believe they whooped us 7-0 or something last year...Lou sure ain't going to come to T.O. and be the saviour, not today and not in the next 10 years. Draft some freaking goalie leafs and stop trading them for 38 yr old has beens!!!!

Well, this year, Luongo is not an upgrade. Given his age, are you willing to bet he'll start to regain form into his mid 30s? I sure as hell wouldn't be. - Dirte
A slight upgrade that's just not worth the contract. We're not going deep in playoffs this year no matter who we have in nets. And next year, Lu will be a little slower and just as expensive. Rinse, lather, repeat for another 10 years.
I wonder if the Sens would part with 1 of their goalies!!

Actually, I think the leafs should stick with what they have. They have about a 3% chance of winning the cup, so give Reimer and Scrivens some experience and see how things go in the 1st 30 next year.

Lu would be an upgrade this year and for the next couple of years, after that...who knows. I think i'd take Luongo over Scrivens or Reimer this year, especially in the playoffs. That being said, I was never huge on getting Lu, but if it does happen I hope it's not for a lot.

The way he's played this year, he wouldn't be. Period. To this point of the season, he'd be a huge downgrade.

Bishop is/will be available....The Sens and Leafs wont be making a trade with each other....
