Bozak's playin' 20+ minutes a night right now ...can't see RC letting that happen unless they grab another centre too.

I don't think Bozak is going anywhere at the deadline, and I think they are going to re-sign him in the summer. I think they are going to go with what they have up the middle, except maybe adding a depth guy in case someone gets hurt - they really don't have many options if a centre goes down. What this team really needs is help on the back end.

That's what I'm thinking. Bozak is doing an ok job -- decent points and good support for Phil and whoever else is on that line. I just don't see how we are going to pick up the kind of number one center everyone dreams about.

The team does need to add some strong defensive minutes. Even though I think Dions game has picked up, he is still not good enough to be logging the kind of minutes he does against top guys.

I'm still conflicted when I hear they're kicking the Luongo tires. While I don't want his contract, I do think they will need an upgrade at some point in the future. I just can't see this team going a long way in the playoffs with what they have.

Ya Gillis really hurt the situation by demanding way more than he should have been..Thats a ugly long term contract that limits the amount of teams that can take it on..

The more I'm pondering this again, the more I hope the Leafs don't do it...It'd be better for them to hope he gets bought out in the off season and then try to sign him to a better contract...

Honestly, it would screw the Canucks big time. Can you really see them buying out Luongo, paying that off, and STILL buying out Booth/Ballard? Without a Luongo trade, I suspect they're stuck with at least one major problem contract. And they have no room for any of them.

True but $5.3M for 349 years is still a problem for a guy who isn't a huge upgrade. I agree that he is still good but his game wi ll drop off faster than his cap hit.

Well, this year, Luongo is not an upgrade. Given his age, are you willing to bet he'll start to regain form into his mid 30s? I sure as hell wouldn't be.
