Hes obviously going to get more games, and another note, nucks dont play him. Schneider has started the last 5-6 games
- Mapleleafs_91

Wait until Schneider has a couple of bad games in a row. Luongo is the poison pill on that team, there's going to be too much pressure to put him in. I'm praying that the controversy pops up again just before the playoffs

No. No, they don't. They don't want him in net. Because they'll lose. Get it?
- Dirte

Pretty sure schneider loses too, yet they play him still

Cause Nonis is infatuated with him If he could get a good deal for him, it will be done
- Mapleleafs_91

Who says Lu even wants to come here?

I heard he vetoed a trade in the off-season.

hmm..

my only issue then is that he's been terrible this year. He literally has not played a single game over .900 this year. just aweful stuff.

Mabye the lockout screwed his whole preparation regime and then the premi-baby (frank)ed with his head. I don't know, but he's been terrible.

- Big_Lightnin

He has not been good but last two games he was .943 against chicago and .947 against blues

neither is Kadri. Kadri is doing what Staal never could, with third line minutes.
- Dirte

just butting in to clarify- Kadri hasn't been playing 3rd line minutes in quite some time. 18-19 mins on average last several games. Only 1 game under 18 mins in last 8 actually. 3 games under 17 in month of March.

those are 2nd line minutes.

carry on.

Exactly.

Aubin, Tellqvist, Raycroft, Clemenson, Cujo (the washed up years), Gerber, Macdonald, Toskala, Gustavsson...

We finally develop the best goalie since Potvin and get some stability in goal and we're about to toss it away?

- Leeman4Gilmour

Great being a leafs fan isn't it? Only would a leaf fan want to acquire a player with worse numbers and is at the end of their career over a younger player who is playing far better with numbers to back it up in every aspect.

oh poop... (frank)ing TSN screwed me again. They just update the season average each game rather than posting the % for each game played

(frank)ers

2nd time they got me

ok he's played 6 very good gams this year, and 10 absolute stinkers.

I can't imagine Nonis, or any GM for that matter, would be stupid enough to trade for a goalie going on 34 playing like junk, signed to age 42 for huge dollar amounts, when he's got not one, but two young goalies making small amounts and both playing better than Luongo. That would be colossally stupid.

He would be eaten alive in Toronto and I suspect he knows it.

There's a reason we have a hard time landing the big name free agents, and it begins with the fickle fans and media.

i can't believe after all this time.. there's still leaf fans thick enough to encourage this argument. it's a (frank)ing terrible idea.. it always has been.

i just don't even know how to go about it anymore. good to see there is enough non thick skulled leaf fans to crush this argument where it sits.

we're done discussing this. Seriously, it's ridiculous.

Luongo has awful numbers this year and is old. Reimer has close to a 920 save % and is young.

Moving on

See, you're not being reasonable. No one has said he sucks. He's just not a first line centre. He's pretty much clearly shown that he's not capable of it.
35 games into this season, and guess what.... He's doing something that Staal has never managed. Even at his best, he could never come close to a point per game.

- Dirte

we can agree to disagree..this year is shambles for many teams...hence the habs in 1st...not sure if you noticed but a lot of top teams are at the bottom and won't have time to climb out and knock out the teams that probably wouldnt be there if there was 50 more games to play.

when you say 35 games into this season and guess what??? Are you talking about Kessel playing 1st line and 1st pp and Staal playing 2nd line again??? WTF never mind dude....your right!!!!

He's probably 13 and has a Luongo poster in his bedroom and doesn't understand finances and the onset of old age.

It was a terrible idea in the off-season, even when we thought our goalies might suck and that Luongo would be an elite goaltender.

Now, our goalies are solid and Luongo blows and the idea suddenly gets better?

Gotta love it.

They've won the last 5 games Schneider has played. They've lost 5 of the last 8 luongo played. They're collecting more losses with Luongo in net easily. Because he's not playing very well. Oh, and he's almost 34.

i think it begins with having a poop team that hasn't made the playoffs in just under a decade. i've always been slightly bothered by the media argument. we're dealing with pro hockey players. they've dealt with media since they were 16. sure it's a bit worse in toronto.. but i don't think it's to the point pro players shun millions of dollars to play here.

think it's been overblown. the obvious reason is that top notch free agents don't want to play for poop franchises that are going nowheres.

then there's the side of the coin.. that a massive chunk of those big free agent contracts turn out to be a (frank)ing disaster anyways.

just saying..

Maybe Kessel plays the first line because he's a first line talent and Staal plays the second line because he's a second line talent.

Just some food for thought.

yes your right..he's on the 2nd line...he's big bro is on the 1st line...only allowed 1 centerman at a time...if you played...you would have learned that in squirt.

Pro athletes they may be, but this market has destroyed many a career that would have thrived in Florida.
