You do realize save % is a more telling statistic for a goalies success than GAA?

GAA doesn't factor in the leafs being in the top 5 of shots allowed a game. Save % does.

GAA doesn't factor in the teams that play defensively sound hockey and only allow 20 shots a game

Save % does.

Reimer is better in the most important stat than all of those goalies you mentioned this year. So go to the other side of the fence and continue this argument where the grass is greener with no apparent logic to support it.

Yeah I would say let them roll see how they do in the playoffs...

In my opinion we'd be better off with a top pairing defenseman than a #1 center. We're always obsessing over this center issue but we've been in the top 10 for goals per game for the past two seasons now. I don't really see offence as a problem right now.

We allow the top 5 most shots in the league and 1/4 of them are high quality shots in the slot. Have you seen a leafs game? It's a (frank)in fire sale out there in our end half the time.

unless he suprises us.. if the leafs were to make the playoffs, reimer will be exposed at that point. he'll either embrace it, or he'll crumble under it.

either way.. it doesn't validate trading valuable qualities for a goaltender signed for the next quarter century.. hogging up cap space, while we're lacking in other areas.

This is the perfect time to finally see what we have in Reimer. If he falls flat on his face in the playoffs that's fine, we're not winning this year anyway and we can move on from him. If he shows up then we might really have something to work with.

Lupul goal is amazing. He is a great leader. However there are no complaints about Dion in Toronto. He has not caved into the pressure of the Toronto media (although he sounds like a caveman in interviews). In fact he has played very good hockey for the most part this year and has stepped it up when you Nancy's doubted the team he most. He has two Key goals in crunch time the last two games and I guarantee you for every bone headed play he makes he makes 5 good plays.

Reimer flat out stole the game in Boston. Only reason they didn't get blown out let alone got the win.

I don't think Luongo has any interest in going somewhere to share the duties, at least not in the sense that you're suggesting. That's what he's trying to get away from. If he agrees to a trade it's going to be to a team with a traditional starter/backup situation.

So who you going to get on defense? Franson and phaneuf arent going anywhere? Gardiner our promising prospect aint going anywhere? Frasers been probably the most surprising defender is a 3rd line pairing for defense highest. Gunner is not even 100 percent yet previous years he has been solid. So we have what, 4/6 guys playing decent hockey that wont be moved?
