I did not say run him out of town, i just want to see luu come here and see us have a strong tandem of luu and reimer - Mapleleafs_91
As I've said before, if Luongo comes in, Reimer is heading out.
You get Luongo for the next 7 years, at a minimum (and hope to God he doesn't regress too badly as he ages), then you get nailed with the penalties if he retires early.
God help you if he decides to keep playing into his 40's as a $5.3 million back-up. |

i thought you meant on 8th seeded teams winning the cup..
that link works against you.. doesn't it? 1/4 of president trophy teams win cups? 5 in 20 years?
i don't know the numbers.. but i imagine that smashes 8th seeded teams out of the park.
the playoffs are not a wild card.. they just might be for the best 4-6 teams... but not for all 16 |

by the end of next season.. vancouver fans are going to be a fun bunch to hang around with.
imagine that, leafs.. young.. getting better.
vancouver. (frank)ed on the cap. no future.. nothing. - joel878
Their prospect pool is absolutely abysmal. It's depressing. How they can manage to ignore the writing on the wall is beyond me. The worst part is, it's not even like they have small window of dominance anymore, that ship has sailed. The balance of power is starting to shift in the west and they're on the wrong end. |

so you're suggesting there's a problem with simply signing another 4M$+ left handed shot defensemen each summer and doing nothing else?
perhaps Gillis will acquire Bouwmeester now as well... he's a bit more expensive but he's a left handed shot, and at a push he could die his hair red ...
would seem a natural fit. |

Why in the world would Nonis want Luongo, Reims is playing great aside from break aways and penalty shots. Two things Luongo also is terrible at |

especially when those 4.5 mil defenceman are overpaid at 3.
trading your brightest young forward for a flat footed goon and trying to label him a power forward is a good move?
yeah.. canucks are (frank)ed. and i love every minute of it. |

He wrote an article about it...
http://www.thestar.com/sp...ing_luongo_again_cox.html - DoctorNHL
Just read that article by Cox. He mentions that the Leafs have other options, like taking a run at Kiprusoff.
Yes, Kiprusoff, the guy who will retire if he gets traded. Cox is an ass-hat. |

ya I do not want to see it. Ride the young guys. get them playoff experience and increase their value and further asses what you've got. We're not beating Pittsburgh anyway.
upgrade in summer if need be, or stick with them if they prove they've got some mettle. so far, they're better than anybody thought they'd be |

i honestly don't care enough to consider this being leg work.. i think this whole argument is foolish.
the better teams usually win the cup. you do understand that 25% is a fairly good chunk when it comes to a playoff contingent of 16 teams annually.. right?
find a site for this. i'm willing to bet that the top 4-6 teams out of the 16 in the playoffs typically win the stanley cup before the bottom 12-16 teams do. go ahead, look it up.. it's logic.
we do not play in a league where bottom seed teams win the cup every year.. the playoffs are not a crapshoot. the better talented teams typically play for the cup. |

Cox alludes to fact that concerns about health of wife and child have abated in last few days...
so maybe he's open to it, especially with Iggy leaving |

hmm..
my only issue then is that he's been terrible this year. He literally has not played a single game over .900 this year. just aweful stuff.
Mabye the lockout screwed his whole preparation regime and then the premi-baby (frank)ed with his head. I don't know, but he's been terrible. |
