I know it's far from a lock, but it's just awesome to be talking about possible first round match-ups rather than what they're going to need to do just to get in. |

Sens are going to beat the Rags. Just as well. Let's just get set up, for the stretch drive. We'll keep the Canadian teams, 3 through 6. Let the Rangers and Devils, match up against the Bruins and Penguins. I wouldn't want to play an underachieving Rangers or Devils club, that just squeaks into the last two playoff spots. Too much playoff experience that might overwhelm the two top favourites. - PrinceLH
Lundqvist and Brodeur are still wild cards. Never discount the goaltender's ability to win 4 games by himself.
If Nash, Richards, and Gaborik finally wake the hell up, they could be have a fun time with Pittsburgh's defense.

habs have a 1 point lead, boston has a game in hand.
i'm pretty confident that boston holds it together down the stretch better than the habs. they're tougher, better balanced, more well rounded.. more experienced with this.
they will add before the deadline to. they're not going to just walk away after this iginla business. - joel878
at this point in time I still think the habs will take it. Call it a gut feeling.
till Christmas .. ah trade deadline has passes will see what that have done before I say boston beats out montreal for the Northeast

They were clearly willing to deal. Word is Whitney out of Edmonton is on their radar. - Leeman4Gilmour
i have a good feeling they'll load up.
they might even make subban expendable after getting burned by the pens.
they lost out on iginla, and their biggest challenge in the east gained him. that won't go unanswered. |

6th spot seems like a good spot for us even though the jets have our number. I dont really wanna play the bruins or the Pens in the first round. |

The difference is depth. Boston has it, the Habs don't. They've just been lucky, having no major injuries yet, this year. If you want to beat them, just run Price. Who's going to stand up to who ever runs him? We just goat them into a slugfest and take them out. |

no way the habs take the northeast.. i'm almost willing to bet against it! - joel878
Agreed, Iginla spurning the Bruins, it may awaken the sleeping giant. And make no mistake, the Bruins are the beasts of the east. |

As they sit, the Bruins aren't that scary. It's their depth that could swing that the other way. Make a couple of deals, and voila! Instant contender. It just depends who they bring in. |

i have zero faith in the crabs. none.
that 6-1 ragdolling stands out to me. that team just doesn't have it. nice run and all.. the lack of toughness is going to be huge.
the habs won't be as eager to dump their first rounder to load up like the bruins will either. |

Lupul, Phaneuf, and Kessel absolutely dominated tonight. Bozak chipped in, too. There you have it: the four biggest acquisitions of the Burke era in Toronto.
Must have been a rough night for our resident curmudgeon.
I'm sure it's hard to fap to the Staal brothers and Tlusty when the Leafs are winning. |

They are a playoff team, no doubt. They just have holes that keeps them a cut below the Penguins. They have the assets to fix it. The question is, will they? |

What always stands out to me was the assurance that Boychuk would turn into Manchuk and that we should draft him... kid was just made available to everybody with zero takers... |

Wow the Canes goalie Peters looked REALLY bad on Joffrey's goal. He just stood like a stiff while Joffrey danced around him. |
