i think we need to go further left. while limiting the size of government

common mistake everyone makes is that they think left means this and right means that.. why? does it have to be so rigidly defined? both sides of the scale have legitimate governing approaches and both sides have their blatant stupidity.

polarization of government is what we have happening now.. and its going to collapse moving forward as the population loses faith in it.

- Dozzer

we just reduced the one part of the government that we should be increasing...Harper has it all backwards.

ENVIRONMENT.

we only have 1....when its ruined, you cant fix it...

water...we only have a certain amount of fresh water...

the list goes on...oil sands? yeah those have been a great success...

dont get me going on this - its pathetic..!

Isn't that the debacle that happened on Wall Street... with all the banks.. wanting more and more from the handouts they already got...?
- DoctorNHL

this is what i mean

the money shouldnt go to lenders.. EVER

the money should only go to services and directly to businesses to offset employment and benefit costs.. never ever ever to a bank.

The main problem in my eyes is not so much the size of the government, but the efficiency (or lack thereof) of it. Poor decisions coupled with policy designed more to keep their own ass in a job rather than serving the population leads to a bad situation all round...

The money invested by the government should have earned the government a corresponding percent ownership of those companies. Keeps the money coming in when they start making money again

Size and efficiency are directly related though.

Provided the guy is smart- the most efficient/effective government is a dictatorship.

One guy telling everyone what to do and where the money goes. The obvious problem with this is the inevitable corruption that comes with the position.

You need a government big enough to have the required checks and balances in place, but not so big that it takes a million dollars and 5 months to figure out whether the lightbuld in the mens washroom needs to be replaced(after going out 7 months ago)

Central Banking owns the world.
Force Governments to pay them to make money and then sell it back to the Government for the Government to use. Debt based society. Yet we allow Communism to take over the world because 'taking the money from the richest and removing the low, medium and higher classes' is the answer. Instead of removing Central Banking and all its problems, Socialists/Communists take it as an opportunity to enforce socialism and eventually turn America into a Communist state.
It amazes me how dumb everyone is.

i'd personally like to see the entire government structure ripped down.. and built back up from scratch.. cut out all the dead weight..

western government has no advanced with its population.. we do not need that many MPs anymore.. our social needs are not defined primarily by the region we live in any longer.

Thats exactly what the Harper government has done. Conservatives or Right Wingers would never take positions our conservatives have. Its impossible to allow a borderline socialist party to take control and no have government grow, they have their hands in everything. Bob Rae.....

water cycle means that we actually have an infinite amount of fresh water. The problem is we can't easily send it to the places that need it the most.

By basic definition they're separate, but in practice thats unfortunately seldom the case. I'm a fan of places like Norway which have relatively small government and high taxes that ensure that all basic requirements (healthcare, education etc) are available for all at no cost.
