Remember when all the team behind the Leafs were magically going to improve??
- burn

Hey Burn, well the Leafs magically got better than them all. Leafs are sitting so solid right now in 6th the worst they can do is probably finish 8th. That's if the Leafs slide a little & the Rangers catch fire but both aren't happening at this time. Just don't want the Leafs to get too over confident.

The Rags will continue to be a mess for as long as Tortorella will be behind the bench. They have completely tuned him out.

I hate the Rangers. The Islanders would be a feel good story if they got in. Love to see that. How's this for a movie script, the hard luck if the Isles upset the Pens in the 1st round. It would make a great movie. Could cast Morgan Freeman as the Isles coach. I'd have a cocky actor like Colin Farrel as the Pens coach.

Waiting to see if Kessel re-signs b4 I decide on a jersey. My canidates are Lupul, Kessel, Phanuef & add Kadri into the mix now.

Really hoping we can catch up to Ottawa saturday, then have Boston slot into the North-east lead.

MTL TOR in the first round would make 9 years of futility worth it.

But could you imagine the cost of a playoff ticket to such a game?

Luongo is not 35. I'm not disagreeing with this, I don't think the Leafs NEED Luongo, but I do think they feel they need to upgrade goaltending and add a veteran to this group, whether that is Luongo or not remains to be seen.

That being said, I still don't believe Scrivens or Reimer will ever be championship goaltenders, I just don't see it. Eventually those guys will have to be upgraded, but the question is...is Luongo the answer? Not too sure.

He is over rated and over paid. Again, pass.

He plays over 19 minutes a game, not 3rd line as you suggest.

I'm not a fan of his contract, but I'd still take Stastny, without a doubt. I hear where you're coming from, that's not a pile of production for $6M. Surprisingly, however, when you look at advanced stats, he plays a simlar role to Grabovski. He's essentially used against the top lines, in partly a defensive role, more than nearly everyone in the league. Now, given the choice, I would take Bozak at $3M or whatever, instead of Stastny at $6M. But, I question whether Bozak will be around next year. He may get stupid offers, and then you have to start asking, do you keep Bozak at $5M, or Stastny at $6M. Personally, I take Stastny at $6M. And the thing is, the only other option may be something like..... Joe Colborne. Or some other crap that you don't want there.

Given that he has a similar style to Bozak, two way player, just better at it, it's actually something that could work. When you start to look at the alternatives, it may not look so bad.
