Gervais is ok as a 7 and servicable as a 6. Not going to win the cup with him on the second D pairing. Is what it is(I hate that saying, but in this case it makes sense).

You're absolutely correct. And when a team is as poor defensively as the Flyers are. Defenseman like Gervais get exposed. If they play on a team that supports each other and play well defensively. You can get by with a player like Gervais as a depth player. He wasn't signed to play 23 minutes like he did tonight.

Just got in from the game. The Flyers really seemed to control the game for two periods then just fell apart.

What was the tall player for Temple that could shoot the 3 like crazy. I believe he got them to the elite 8. I golfed with him in Myrtle beach. He was good friends with a work associate. Began with V. Man, I can't remember his name.

The Coaches lack of adjustments and the poor job he has done overall this year, is a major factor in the results of this Season. Versus scapegoating the 6/7 depth defenseman. Not to dismiss other players that you repeatedly reference, that really haven't played all year.

I felt we got that a lot of nights in 2006-07. Effort was often there, but there were just dreadful roster signings going into that season.

Thankfully, Homer turned that around in short order and kept the right players while adding Timonen, Hartnell, and Briere in the summer.

I think they might have a decent team but then again they might not. I don't think they are contenders next year whatever they do. I think as of now Schenn B, Simmonds, Read, Coots are 3rd perhaps 2nd line players, mostly former. You might say they have higher potential, but thats potential and they may not develop fully. I don't understand why Harts is playing when he is having such transparent difficulty skating. The defense is a huge mess. The goalie is suspect.

So, I would rather have a long term plan and get a few very high picks and accept reality for a couple of years, probably more rather than wishing they win meaningless games.
