Simple question...Flyers winning the cup this year?
- nonpoint22

Probably not. Obviously, they should follow the 1983-84 Penguins' pattern with even less of a chance of landing the #1 pick.

Are Drouin and Mack centers?
- Yosimar89

Drouin can do both but he plays LW while MacKinnon centers that line.

They need to stop rushing their youngsters just to keep the fan base and bottom line happy and try to win every year. They're misusing their resources if they're not going to allow their drafted players to grow in time.

yes cause the M.O. of this club over the years is keeping young talent and letting it develop and not trade it for veterans past their prime

Shootout. Bryz has got this.

Anyone who thinks Franz Nielsen is going to score in the shootout, get your heads examined.

Are they closer to winning a cup if they finish 2 points out of the playoffs and miss out on the top 3

or

closer to a cup by drafting one on of the top 3?

Don't get me wrong, I would rather have them make the playoffs this season then tank but what about this team this season makes you think they have a chance to get there?

- opeth_pa

That's a lot of conjecture. Things happen, as we know. They were a much better team after the Pronger trade than before, but Grabovski's stick was something no one could foresee.

Good luck building a team through UFA anymore.

Flyers have sort of done it. Timonen and Hartnell. Pronger extended, etc.

I'd rather see them compete and learn to play as a team. A lot of younger players (and fans, apparently) that could benefit from learning what 'Flyers hockey' is.

No, but it not wrong to hope your team gets better over time even if that means it gets bad for a little while...I dont wish they lose it just doesnt bother me as much as previous years

Should have had Leighton shoot. That man knows how to put the puck in the net.

which one? Luke looks great other then the penalty. BTW: NYI have a terrible PP and Hickey looks like and AHLer out there.
- coffee junkie

I only saw the 2nd half of the game. But Luke Schenn struggled tonight. Especially in the 3rd period.
