I'm one of the guys that wants to see Vis gone. Guy is a great player but he should be gone by the deadline.

I'm with you Capt. Our future "D" core doesn't depend on either of them. So why not get what you can now when their value is high.

If we could get a 1st for Viz and a 1st for Streit. Maybe just maybe we offer two first rd picks for the 1st overall pick this yr and acquire that Seth Jones kid. We are in a good position to sweeten the deal even more. If he's as good as they say. We have enough "D" and "C" prospects to move one with out stressing our prospect pool.

And we would still have another 1st rd pick.

Anyone have the inside on Seth Jones? Is he worth two #1's? Three #1's?

"Luongo to the Isles— book it

No sources on this one, but who needs those with all the obvious signs pointing in the Islanders direction.

- Isles are only two points out of the playoffs
- Isles are 28th in the NHL in goals against
- Isles have good, young NHL players that would fit Gillis asking price
- Isles have no Goalie right now and non in the wings that will ever be NHL starters
- The Isles I'm sure would love to dump DiPietro and have another team buy him out
- The Isles have the cap room to help the Canucks out.
- The Isles to get to the cap floor next year
- The Isle need another star whose name will sell tickets

Let's get Snow and Gillis together on this one and make it happen. The Isles fans deserve to have their team take a shot and the playoffs after years of not being relevant and John Taraves deserves to be on a team that wants to win instead of continually re-building.

To Vancouver- DiPietro (buyout at season end), Niederreiter, Bailey and Kichton
For
T NYI- Luongo and Ballard

The Islanders get the boost they need to make a run and make the playoffs as well as solve their revolving door that they have had in net for the past decade. Vancouver gets cap space and three of good prospects going forward. "

Any trade that gets DP out of here and makes Kasper happy! Is OK with me

Kidding aside. Since I dont want DP and I dont like Bailey. And since NINO started female dogin. And Kitchen is one of a large number of decent "D" prospects we have.

Might as well do it!

It was just last year when he admitted during an interview that he still is bitter about the trade from Long Island. Who knows if he doesn't still hold a grudge since the owner happens to be the same. Plus, like anyone else who seems to turn their nose up at us like we're a stale turd, he just might not want to go to a floundering team.

I spent a lot of time defending DP over the years but I will say, without the ability to play the puck, DP was only slightly above average even during 2006-07. It was his ability to play the puck that caused Milbury to trade Luongo away during the clutch and grab era of the NHL. DP's positioning was always a big problem for me as someone who coached a fair amount of goaltenders. The problem is, with some people, no matter how much you coach their positional play, their instincts often take over. DP was that way. Add in a terrible goaltending coach and sub par defense and you have a recipe for a fish out of water.

I think Poulin's biggest issue is playing time. The kid needs to see more time at the NHL level to adjust to the speed of the game. Ultimately if he can do that, his positioning SHOULD become more sound.

- keaner17

I spent a lot of time not defending DP over the years, but I can't shortchange him in any way on 06-07. He was very good, on a mediocre team. And more reliable game-to-game that year, particularly with rebound control...steered a lot of shots to the corners like he never did any year before or since. But, I'm hardly saying Poulin is first-overall quality or better than Luongo.

I'm saying he's our most athletic goaltender prospect with some fixable flaws whose book shouldn't be considered written and closed relative to our other prospects, who haven't exactly proven themselves either.

We'd better whip this slow a*sed pile of crap tonight- the one time where the pond hockey would actually work out is against them, at least for the first few minutes of period one. Skate your butt off, and draw a couple of penalties. Shoot high on the netminder, as he seems to suffer from DiPietro-itis....he drops to his knees a half hour before the shot comes, just in case there is no room above him for it to go into the net. I know, as Jethro said, we don't match up well, because they are big- but the difference is, Boston is big, strong and fast.

The only three guys this team has who are TRULY fast are little (Gagne, Briere, Giroux); the rest, other than Couturier (sp?), are plodding third liners, and orange pylons on the rearguard. They gutted what was a contending team, and the press in Philly still expects them to contend, which is ridiculous. The icing on the cake, trading JVR for Schenn, would be like us trading Nino for Komisarek; it was flat asinine, and it's biting them hard. I feel bad for Laviolette. All our team needs to do is skate, and learn to stop sh*tting its pants every time they see someone bigger than they are on the ice. They can't hit what they can't catch. I expect far better this time around.

- dcb1

How many Flyers games have you actually watched? Read and Voracek can fly. As far as Luke Schenn. The trade has worked out really well so far. He has played really well, and most Flyers fans are very happy with the deal. It was a solid trade, and the Flyers got a solid defenseman for the future.

Good luck to the Isles tonight. I honestly hope the Isles win. They need the game more then we do. The Isles have a shot at the playoffs. It would be great for the franchise, the fans, and the League to have the Isles in the playoffs.
