Thank you for your infinite knowledge of hockey...I am bleesed to even be able to talk to you.

Chiarelli said that about Iginla who is 6-7 older than Vanek....and he also said that before his #1 competitor in the East started stacking the deck...

but then again...you apparantly know EVERYTHING

Thats why I put I Believe before what I said. Implying that I do not hold the infinte hockey knowledge you speak of.

I would bet you 100 dollars Vanek doesn't go to the Bruins though. Pay-Pal bet? Ehhhhhhh?

I won't hate on you for hating on me though. I know what it's like having a poop team. Hurts your feelings and make you mad all the time, resulting in these kinds of posts. I understand....

The actions of the Pens represent what ails the NHL. A team already loaded with highly paid players, loading up with even more highly paid players with seemingly no end to their bankroll or any care for the salary cap. The league should impose a limit on the addition of "franchise" calibre players during a season, otherwise how do other fiscally responsible teams ever compete? Why does a team with the best record in the Eastern conference need to add another team's top player? What bullsh*t. How about we allow them to add Subban, Anderson, Alfredsson, Gaborik, Zajac too? I'm sure they're not done adding yet...what a joke. I will be so happy to see this team out in the first round. Yankees anyone?

None of the offers were where Calgary fans wanted them to be for Iginla, but the trade to Pitt is clearly a case of Feaster putting the player's wishes over the betternment of the team. The Boston offer wasn't so good that the Flames couldn't walk away from it, but there is little doubt it was better than Pitt's. In the end, Feaster decided it was more important to give Iginla what he wanted than get the best return for the team. Seemed like most Flames fans were in favor of this, though they may now be singing a different tune.

Why you yelling dude? Just making a comment. It wouldn't matter to me if it was NYR, MTL, or TO etc... , I just don't like the rush to grab all the stars and load up rosters going into the playoffs. We are heading more and more into a situation where only the rich teams will be competitive for the cup. Just doesn't seem right.

Anyways...good luck Pens and sure hope you make it past the first round...just sayin'

Pretty sure Iginla had to waive a NTC/NMC. He choose PIT over BOS. Apparently he likes herpes.

Both teams were on his list that he would waive his NMC clause for. He may have preferred Pitt but he would have waived to come to Boston. Feaster made it easy for him and gave in to take the worse deal.

Bozak, Gardiner to Colorado for Duchene.
Book it, it's as certain as Iginla to Boston.

Why are there teams in markets that can't afford poop then? Move them out to real markets, and your problem is solved.

Well. Let's see what PC does now. There are still moves he can make to improve the team.

Yeah but I don't think there is anyone else out there worth trading the kind of haul they'd been discussing for Iginla. Especially with Pitt as loaded as they are. If I'm Chiarelli, I know I'm gonna need a LOT Of help and a LOT of luck to win the East this year so I am now far less inclined to make a big deal.

If he does anything, I hope he gets guys to make the team even bigger and tougher to play against. That is their biggest strength over teams like Montreal and Pitt. Definitely not going to acquire enough skill to "outskill" them. Why try.
