Traded to BostOMG!!!
What an embarrassing situation. Some one will be fired out of the front offices... not the gm but that was a horrible leak.... like Boston struck an iceberg kind of leak.
I am sure the named players are thrilled knowing they were expendable.
"Iceberg dead ahead!" |

Iggy is more emotional but Jaybo has more value...just wait - flashfire
this is most likely true
one thing i'm worried about though, is JBo's NMC because there's been nothing said about it |

i really do think Boston was 100% convinced they had the deal done, and it was Feaster holding his cards close, simply because it's so rare for so many media members to be so completely wrong. i mean, you had all of TSN's top reporters basically convinced it was done.
although Bob McKenzie kept saying that the deal was "not done" but he wasn't sure whether that meant it was just a technicality or whether negotiation was still ongoing. and then he was the first to break it was Pittsburgh. still the king |

do you think he likes the record of playing the most games without a playoff game |

actually this is true. Feaster said he presented him with the two offers and Iggy chose Pittsburgh.
People forget that even when a player with a full NTC presents a list of teams, it doesn't mean he waives his NTC right then and there
This is how one might defend Feaster, because there was Boston, Pittsburgh and Chicago - and I think Chicago made the least sense. The question essentially is, how much more might Feaster have been able to drive up the bids between the two teams. |

Joe Morrow, Kenneth Agostino, Ben Hankowski. a 2nd, a 5th and a conditional 2nd for Iginla, Murray, Morrow and a 5th.
We all know who's winning GM of the year now. - LetsGoBuffalo75
Seriously! What the hell is going on ?? a 1st, 3rd, 5th
Kunitz - Crosby - Iginla
Neal - Malkin - Morrow
Cooke - Sutter - Dupuis
- Flames-Fan4
Impressive.
Kunitz-Crosby-Iginla
Neal-Malkin-Morrow
Bennett-Sutter-Dupuis
Cooke-Kennedy-Adams
Even if Hossa & Sharp come back, blackhawks offence doesn't compare |

true, people don't seem to get this...he didn't waive on any possible trade to any of those teams he said he would consider trades to any of those teams. End of the day he picked the Pens...better than losing him for nothing after 17 games |

Pens legs will be gone after second round with all the old timers . - VANTEL
Yes, because the grind of a 48 game regular season schedule will be really hard on those old legs going into the playoffs. |

This could actually be the Calgary newspapers tomorrow given that I'm pretty sure the trade was announced well after deadline. |

Philly has to squeak into 8th now. - Johnny Wrath
No, no. We're waiting for the Seth Jones Sweeps. Meszaros is injured again, and I think it's a sign we aren't suppose to play the Pens until they 'roid down a next year as a few of those rentals get returned... |

This just in:
Bettman orders Lundqvist and Chara to report to his Penguins team as well !!!
I can't imagine being a Bruins fan today, and after that tough loss to MTL.; get some relief that you just picked up Iginla for nothing; and then go to sleep and have a nightmare that Bettman later awarded Iggy to the Penguins for LESS than nothing; and when the B's fan woke up, it turned out to be for REAL!!!
Bettman's Penguins = Fixed!
Just award them the Cup so that all the other teams' fans can now avoid watching any Penguins games; and have those NHL national tv networks ratings plummet when the Pens are playing. Bettman's goal is to promote his Penguins because of Captain Crybaby Cindy. Let's all stay away. Your not the N.F.L. Bettman!!! |

difference being boston offered a conditional pick based on iginla resigning, pittsburgh's was unconditional....
|
|
|
|
According to McKenzie the Flames preferred deal was with Boston but Iginla made the final choice, as was, of course, his right to do so. So that's something for the Feaster apologists I guess (although that unconditional pick crap was nothing to write home about either.)
remember, as I've said, just because a player makes a list of teams that might be acceptable doesn't mean it's legally binding. |

you can make a strong case the key prospect offered had more upside than either of the two Pittsburgh guys though |
