They got an undersized 2nd round russian and a potential5/6 dman. Better guys cleared waivers lately.

I really don't see Iggy as being the answer to anything, I don't know why everyone is so wound up, he's 35 and this isn't 2004.

This is the same GM who also used his first rounder to pick a guy that was slotted to go in the 3rd or 4th round last year at the draft......

So it's not surprising. Can't wait to hear the press conference and Feaster discuss his new acquisitions

Imagine if the Habs had of acquired Iginla? It would of increased the number of power forwards on your team to ........ 1

I pray Whits ends up in Boston. He'll be hospitalized with windburn watching Sid and Geno go around him. Whitney is a turnstile, they can't possibly want him.

great trade for you guys. iginla doesn't worry me. seems like scoring was your problem when you played us, don't see how iginla is going to add to that in a huge way. you guys don't have a problem with leadership or crashing the corners or toughness which is essentially the things iginla brings.

not saying he's bad, I love iginla. proably my favorite non penguin in the NHL.

I still like our moves for Morrow and Murray better, I think they helped us out a lot more than iginla will.

just my opinion.

good luck the rest of the way.

He's a great addition to any team even if he's not the elite player that he once was. No Bruin fan can possibly be unhappy with this trade.

Again, I'm around the club everyday and haven't heard anything even close to that. I can assure you that the Bruins are not moving Milan Lucic for those two players.

lol its just everyone making fun of the oil blogger cuz he said that was gonna be a trade

Sorry, but I'm convinced we over-paid. Iggy is the better player. Let's wait and see how much Murray and Morrow slow down our team. Iggy isn't the same player, but I've seen him have some nice games this year. In the Dallas games I've watched, Morrow was a non-factor.

agree to disagree...

but if you go back and watch 2009 playoff penguin highlights, malkin dominated when he had a guy crashing the net... he got that in Morrow...

if you watched some of our games this year, you would have seen that we couldn't clear out the front of the net or play a physical defensive game... we got that in Murray.

sometimes you don't win Cups by making the sexy trade that the Bruins made, sometimes it's the lesser moves that address the problems more so than the names...

in 2009 the penguins made a small trade to get Phillipe Boucher and a waiver claim on Craig Adams... it worked out pretty well for us.

I was confident in the Penguins to beat the Bruins in a 7 game series a week ago... i'm just as confident, if not more confident to beat them in a 7 game series after tonight.

people act like the penguins have never had small guys...

Hal Gill skated like he had bricks in his skates
Rob Scuderi couldn't skate to save his life
Mark Eaton isn't the best skater
Brooks Oprik isn't winning any skating titles anytime soon.

there's more to defense than speed. Murray provides something that this defense doesn't have, physical play infront of the net... he will do wonders for our pk just by clearing the net... no one on our team does that now...

as for morrow, he isn't a guy you notice all the time.

in 2009, when fedotenko played with malkin, he opened up the rink for him. fedotenko crashed the net and went into the corners. fedotenko did the little things which in turn made malkin a better player.

morrow didn't come here for his scoring or offensive abilities. he came here to provide the locker room leadership, and that rough and tough forward to help out Neal and Malkin.

After speculation all day that Jarome Iginla would be traded to the Boston Bruins, the Calgary Flames announced instead that he has been traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
