What's your problem? Haven't you seen Lander play?
Other than pure fighting skill (which the oilers have more than enough of already between Brown and Peckham), I would take Lander for his potential over Lucic any day of the week. He's also a centre which makes him more valuable.

As an honest-to-God, dyed-in-the-wool Oilers fan, I think this is a terrible deal for Edmonton.
Ryan Whitney, if he works on his footspeed, could be the next Scott Niedermayer with that offensive capability. Magnus Paajarvi is a solid player should be 2nd or even 1st liner in the future with good coaching.
To throw a young stud like Anton Lander into that deal, all for some hunchbacked goon who leaches off his superior teammates... It makes me mad. Maybe if Boston threw in Hamilton and a pick, I heard he was pretty good.

Ok maybe not on the toughness and hunchbackery front, but honestly I think Lucic is one of the most overrated players in the league. So much credit for beating the crap out of Komisarek, but what has he done since then? |
