i'm sure they could turn it around with a combination of players like myers, pominville, and stafford pulling their heads from their asses and taking away older vets and infusing the team with a newer, younger core. i'm not sure if they'd be contenders but i think they could be better.

we're basically trying to rebuild on the fly but in a smarter, less idiotic way than calgary. at least THEY finally traded iggy, because rebuilding around him for years was clearly not working. start with pominville, only trade miller if the offer blows you away and see what you can come up with. i don't really care to get anything for stafford but a 2nd would be fine with me at this point.

if things don't turn around, then you can trade vanek as a rental and see if you can get something good for him, at that point we'd have a better lot of players around anyways assuming we pick top 5 in the draft.

That series was just insane, If that was a second round matchup that series is much calmer and Pitt would have won in 6. They just decided not to play much defense that entire series

I'd be shocked if the Penguins come unglued this year. They brought in two well respected captains in the past week.

There is no guarantee in winning, but they won't play like immature morons this year. That works for me.

The real takeaway from this is that Pittsburgh, who was already one of the deepest teams in the league just became much deeper. It just shows how easy it is to improve your team so long as you don't fall in love with guys that haven't proven anything yet. That's what's so frustrating about the Sabres' front office.

Tough to say. I have no idea what he will want money wise or if he will want to return to Calgary. Pittsburgh certainly won't break the bank for him, if they do Letang is gone.
