Love to keep hearing how Regehr won't garner what Murray got from Kings fans and others. If this is the price of doing business for rent a players. Can't imagine what we could get in return for Miller, Pommer or Van.

Why would they trade Lucic? And from everything that's been said in Calgary for months is that Iginla won't be in Boston (or the east) past this year.

i mentioned this earlier but i really like Khokhlachev and in some ways are glad he's out of our division before he could do damage.

Vanek, Pominville and Miller all have a year left on their contract.

Thats why I think next year at the deadline, when there are more games after the deadline than this lockout shortened, their value might be at the highest.

As of July 1st, a team acquiring them now, have a year to get them resigned.

They keep them and the team plays well, they take the huge risk of letting them walk for zilch. As their is no way in hell DR trades them at the deadline if they are in real contention for the playoff.

i'm sure they could turn it around with a combination of players like myers, pominville, and stafford pulling their heads from their asses and taking away older vets and infusing the team with a newer, younger core. i'm not sure if they'd be contenders but i think they could be better.

we're basically trying to rebuild on the fly but in a smarter, less idiotic way than calgary. at least THEY finally traded iggy, because rebuilding around him for years was clearly not working. start with pominville, only trade miller if the offer blows you away and see what you can come up with. i don't really care to get anything for stafford but a 2nd would be fine with me at this point.

if things don't turn around, then you can trade vanek as a rental and see if you can get something good for him, at that point we'd have a better lot of players around anyways assuming we pick top 5 in the draft.

If the draft lottery were today, the only way we could draft in the top 5 would be to win the lottery and get the #1 overall. I think the best way to tank and drop back into the bottom 5 would be to trade Miller. We get some young pieces and maybe another good draft pick and turn the rest of the season over to Enroth.

i'm definitely okay with pittsburgh winning 3 cups before the bruins even get close again!

but yeah, they've been on a winning streak for half of the season and now this!

also, i completely forgot about the douglas and morrow acquisitions. jesus, this team really will win the cup.

i'm calling this now: Malkin to Buffalo Sabres in the off-season. (check their salary cap situation for next year)

Seeing how stacked the pens are now, and how empty the Sabres are, I have no problem with Darcy blowing this team up. They are so far away from being a Cup contender there is no need to keep Miller and Pominville. Deal them, get as much as you can and start to put pieces in place to win down the road. Miller and Pominville are just sucking air, taking up space and hindering the team building process. Tank the right way, get the highest picks they can this year and next, then lets see where they are at. It's going to be a long couple of years before the Sabres are relevant again.

Make deals for young, solid prospects, and draft picks so that when they are relevant again they will be loaded with prospects they can deal for the Morrows and Iggies to go all out for the Cup.
