The game sunday against you guys should be a nice welcome for Iggy. Im sure it will still be a good game as apparently you guys are only playing good against us at this point. I still expect a ton a fight from you guys no matter who is in the lineup for ya.

Welpp.. I am at a loss for words. My favorite non-Flyer is now a (frank)ing Pen.

Watching another Pitt parade is really gonna piss me the hell off.

Let's not start decorating parade floats in black and yellow just yet.

There's a lot of real estate for the Pens to cover between here and the Cup. They were the prohibitive favorites last year going into the playoffs. How'd that work out?

Trying to run this "glass half full" scenario over in my head.. Here goes.. Iginla is on the Penguins and theyre stacked as can be. So even if the flyers were contending, they would not match up against this Penguin team (or any other team for that matter) and would likely fall very short of the cup anyways. Having said that, all that can matter for this franchise right now is the draft, and the offseason.. So the lower we finish the better

And I thought only the Flyers traded draft picks like candy when they're legit (subjective of course) cup contenders....

The biggest factor that made this possible for the penguins isn't the picks, it's the quality youth in the farm system.

The Penguins have a alot of quality young defensemen (unlike the flyers) that they could afford to trade a top defensive prospect (1st round pick). Can you imagine the day where the flyers could afford to trade a top defensive prospect and have it not affect the depth of the farm team, let alone the big club?

Having a quality farm system, something the Flyers have neglected, is essential to maintaining success and keeping the cost of trade deadline deals down. The Penguins really didn't give up that much, draft pick wise for what they are receiving.

Joe Morrow would be the #1 prospect in the entire flyers org. For the Penguins, because of their depth, he was a bargainning chip they could afford to part with.

Even after trading away players the Pens farm team is miles ahead of the Flyers. That is something the Flyers have needed to address for years. Unfortunately being "all in" every year and making sure every asset is either on the big club or traded away has put them in this position.

To stay on top for years the Flyers need a steady pipeline. Something they don't have.
