You're so excited you have no idea who you just traded.

D'Agostini is still a Pens prospect. Agostino is the guy they traded, along with Hanowski

If they fail the crash will be hard. No excuses now. My god tomorrow we might be adding Iginla, Malkin and Murray to a team on a 13 game win streak.

Look I'm sure you're a nice guy and it is nothing personal but all I now want from this terrible season is for pit to fall on their faces after trading so many assets. I thought I wanted a high draft choice but now this is it. Santa? Can you make that happen? Pls.

I think you know my brother is a huge Flyers fan, his other team is Calgary. He just sent me this text:

"(frank) I hate you. I just threw up in my mouth so don't rub it in. was kind of happy when I heard boston and did shed a tear when they said the (frank)ing penguins. god damn in fact don't even text back or call for at least 3 days"

I can't lie to you; it would be (frank)ing amazing to see the ultimate choke here, but the Pens are loaded for bear at this point. Yikes.

And a Morrow/Sutter/Cooke 3rd line? *shudder*

haha I could see Flyers fans feeling that way...

but the crazy thing is that we didn't trade many assets. Morrow and our 1st are the only serious assets we traded and honestly I didn't think that would be enough to get Iginla alone...

Yea the target is squarely on their back. If they don't win it all though I'll have to either go on vacation or relinquish my duties here because our blog will be troll central.

Interesting thought. Two veterans are bid on by the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins in the week before the trade deadline. Both have NTCs, and both end up in Pittsburgh.

Anybody wonder if one or both of them shot down Boston because Jeremy Jacobs is the Bruins owner, and he was largely seen as the boogeyman behind the lockout, while one of the Pens owners, Ron Burkle was very moderate and seen as a driver to get the final deal hammered out?

@kylerdraper Iginla chose Pittsburgh over Boston. He squashed the deal with the Bruins.

Hopefully Boston is desperate enough to trade for briere if he gets healthy this next week. Would save us a compliance buy out.

Do you know who isn't happy tonight: Fleury. He is now scapegoat number 1 if the Penguins don't win the cup. He was the scapegoat already but now anything short of a cup win is a complete failure. Lose and he's probably off the team and wont be able to room with his good buddy Crosby anymore. Sleep well Flower.

Very interesting. I would love it if they could take Briere off our hands. I am still in shock that Iggy went to the Pens for a very minimal return IMO. I am praying God that last year's Fleury shows up for the playoffs and they don't win a cup because right now, I don't see anyone stopping them in the East.

How do the Pens have all this cap space to keep piling superstars on the roster? And here were too busy with guys like Gervais, Fedetenko, Foster, and Leighton. Waited half a year for this season to start now I just want it to be over. The Peguins

Crosby/Malkin. Best chance to win the cup. That's the overriding factor IMO

And I thought only the Flyers traded draft picks like candy when they're legit (subjective of course) cup contenders....

Yeah, i am watching my Blue jays spring training. Back to cheering for LA and Anaheim to win the cup... I will be angry for a month, but once the draft approaches, I will be happier. I hated seeing them lose the last two games because I held out some faint hopes for us to make a run this season, but dropping to 30th is actually best for this team, I just hate seeing them this badbecause I thought they'd be ok this year..... draft well this summer, try to acquire some D help.

Theyre already a very strong team at the forward position and there is no way they'll be able to re-sign him next year. It's not like they are a struggling team right now either. Giving up a 1st in a deep draft makes no sense to me.

The game sunday against you guys should be a nice welcome for Iggy. Im sure it will still be a good game as apparently you guys are only playing good against us at this point. I still expect a ton a fight from you guys no matter who is in the lineup for ya.

Because it doesn't matter to them. If they lock up Letang, they have two franchise centers, a top defenseman, and a goalie who, while inconsistent at times, can also play at a high level. All the bases are covered. And all those guys are young. It's sickening
