If they buy out Briere and trade, say Matt Read and a 2nd rounder for Bouwmeester, they can afford a top six of Bouwmeester, Schenn, Timonen, Coburn, Grossmann and Meszaros.

No need to do anything else. Then after next season, you have $10mm coming off in Timonen and Meszaros and can still use a buyout on Bryz if he continues to struggle with consistency

I probably presented it wrong. Lets say the Flyers can gain assete that will help in years 3+ and have to fit them under the cap now. Let's say after the Briere buyout and a management decision that Bryz is the way to they can't fit without $6 million in cap relief. It could happen. Just thinking outloud.

Wouldn't one just assume the GM trading the prize would have placed a call to all interested parties letting them know the details of the trade they were going to accept to give everyone else chance to better it? Isn't that like GM 101? Again, Feaster is a disaster.
