Not Rinaldo. I know you know your hockey, is there anyone besides Rinaldo that can be proud of their season? I think Luke Schenn has been good for the most part.
- LJF

I think statistically, other than +/-, Jake can be proud of his season.

This has been an issue for awhile. Problem is the team had a young core that took a step back this year. Call it a sophomore slump or whatever and the blue line is just a joke. I like Luke Schenn, but I bet there are 4-5 people on here that could play better then the d the Flyers are dressing.

I'm sorry but this team is an embarrassment. No heart no soul just all fold.

- LJF

I understand how you feel. But I don't think it has anything to do with heart, or folding. If it does, then they have bigger issues then the defense. Playing defense in the NHL is a very tough position to play. When you don't get support and the team as a whole is as bad defensively as the Flyers are. Twice as difficult.

2 or more?! He's a special talent. 1 more year tops in junior
- Just5

Until the Flyers get some stability throughout many areas of the lineup I dont want the kid up here for one second.

I'd leave him down for one more year, and MAYBE start introducing him after that.

If the Flyers draft d-man with that 1st round pick this season I dont want them seeing NHL ice for a while. Clean up the poop, before you bring the date home.

The french stiff you are thinking of is Don Flamenco, that's Glass Joe.

Voracek has rebounded and turned the poor start into a very good season.

The Bruins vs Habs game is pretty damn good.

What would it take , realistically , to get Subban besides the Canadians being dumb and willing to trade him.

- opeth_pa

Nothing. He's going to be a franchise guy. What a bargain next year. 2.8 million. Less than half of Timonen's cap hit. Only issue with Subban was maturity, and that certainly looks like it's trending in the right direction.

Can you imagine if Edmonton gets another top 3 pick? They are collecting some stable of young talent. If they get some dmen, when they mature they could be scary.
- PLindbergh31

I'm going to disagree with you here.

Personally I think the top talent they have, that is supposed to lead their team, is soft as hell for the most part.

They are babies for the most part. How can you say RNH, Yakupov, Hall, Eberle and company are soft? What is the average age of those players? 20? If that.

Nearly a ppg player. He's going to be a 50-60 point Dman in short order.

Too much skill without enough hard nosed play from what I have seen of the guys you mentioned.

I get a big Vanek vibe from that team, dont know why.

His current point per game totals project to 28 goals, 41 assists for 69 points over an 82 game Season.

Fair, but you can fill around them with veteran grit. Their skill level is off the charts.

Not sure he will get to close to 70 points, he could. I think over the course of a full season he will be in the 50-60 point range. This day in age that's tremendous for a dman.

I agree. Way too early to label any of those players anything yet. Boatloads of talent and skill.

He's likely able to play in the NHL, but he'd need to be shielded like Boston has done with Hamilton to some extent
- Jsaquella

Would love to see him paired with Timonen next year if the Flyers get him.

Not sure either. I'm just telling you what his totals would amount to, if he scored at his current pace, in an 82 game Season.

The Oilers kind of remind me of what the Tampa Bay Rays have done. They were so bad for a long time, and they have a very small budget, but they draft so soundly. The Oilers really have a chance to build something tremendous in the next 10 years. Figure another top 5 pick this year to add to their young core.
