Jokinen clears. That is a surprise.

I guess the 3 million next year scared teams off.

Spoke with one GM this morning who likes Jokinen and would have taken him if he was a pending UFA. Next year's $3 M on his deal scared teams

Two things. Suggesting that the Flyers aren't playing well defensively because they don't like Bryzgalov, is BS. Nothing to do with it. Secondly, the Flyers are playing the same exact way, with the exception of a minor change, as they did last year. That's the problem. Laviolette hasn't changed.
- MJL

1. Really? BS? If you don't think chemistry has an impact on how a team plays, you must have only played video games in real life.

2. Again, really? If they're playing the same with just a little tweak, then why aren't we seeing that same high pressure dominance that we saw last year for long stretches?

Yet, teams will offer 4 year $16 million contracts to inferior players this summer.

Is that what my statement says?
- MJL

Your statement says "neither of those 2 players are that good that they would make a significant difference to the current team."

So you're saying neither of those 2 could have any influence that creates a difference in our, what, 7 games where we've had a tie or lead after 2 periods and lost. Neither of those 2 players are good enough to make any significant difference in those games which could in fact put us into a better possible playoff position? It's 1000% impossible?

I didn't say that chemistry has no impact on how a team plays. I said your premise that the team isn't playing well defensively, because they don't like Bryzgalov, is BS. With the media in this town, covering the team. If there was even a hint of that going around, there would be a story written about it.
The Flyers are playing the same forecheck scheme this year, as they were last year. I don't recall the Flyers being dominant last year.

My statement says exactly what it says. You can beleive it says whatever you want it to say. But it's pretty clear. I haven't stated that anything is impossible.

Where's the evidence that the team doesn't like him?

Why would you want to trade couturier? He's solid defensively, has great hands, gives you size down the middle, and is only 20.

The stone cold evidence is some dopey interview Rick Tocchet did on a Pittsburgh sports talk radio station, about how he would've felt if he was on the team. Irrefutable, imo.

The Flyers are playing badly defensively, and losing on a regular basis. And are going to miss the playoffs. All due to the players don't like Bryzgalov. And their dislike of Bryzgalov trumps how much they like winning and going to playoffs, with a chance to win the Stanley Cup!

None of them... getting rid of your #1 center leaves you with a void up front. Weber wont mean crap on the back end if they don't have a driving force on offense. They need to stop trading away their leaders, for once in their lives, and stick with a plan. All other team have long term leaders. Even though G has had his ups and downs this season, it's part of the growing pains. He'll improve.

If you put a gun to my head, I'd probably take the first one though.

I love Bryz's personality and philosophies on life but it hasn't worked out for him here. I didn't think we would be getting a top 5 goalie but I did expect to get a lot better than this.
- NickTheKid87

If Holmgren didn't think he was getting a top 5 goalie he shouldn't have paid him Top 2 money. Bryz has raked in 200k TOTAL less than luongo over the last 2 years. If you include next years salary ( 3 year range), Bryz is the #1 paid goalie in the league raking in $24.5 mill.

Salary does factor into expectations.
