They can add Bouwmeester or Campbell without buying out Timonen, as long as they buy out Briere.
If they buy out Briere and trade, say Matt Read and a 2nd rounder for Bouwmeester, they can afford a top six of Bouwmeester, Schenn, Timonen, Coburn, Grossmann and Meszaros.
No need to do anything else. Then after next season, you have $10mm coming off in Timonen and Meszaros and can still use a buyout on Bryz if he continues to struggle with consistency - Jsaquella
If they can get Bouwmeister for Read and a 2nd then I'm all for it. |

Even if they can't, they're going to go balls to the wall to get a number one defenseman. They get one, even if it's trading Couturier, and buy out Briere, they have ample cap room to fit Timonen for one year. |

I probably presented it wrong. Lets say the Flyers can gain assete that will help in years 3+ and have to fit them under the cap now. Let's say after the Briere buyout and a management decision that Bryz is the way to they can't fit without $6 million in cap relief. It could happen. Just thinking outloud. |

Iginla officially a Bruin.
Moved for the two kids listed, and a conditional 1st round pick. TSN saying its thought to be a 1st rounder if he re-signs in Boston.
If that is the best deal Feaster could find then so be it, but the Bruins made out good.
From all accounts the two prospects are somewhat risky, and a conditional first? Good trade for Boston. |

I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions reading this short sentence, but when I was finished I was happy.
Gotta support the team.

I find that odd. It's no Despres, 1st and something like what was reported he wanted from the Pens. I find it hard to believe they weren't offered a package that included the 1st and Joe Morrow prior to the B.Morrow trade. |

How the (frank) do you trade a franchise player, who was in your city for 16 years, and was seemingly willing to allow bidding to get you a better price, for a guy who could be anything between Alex Semin and Pavel Brendl, a 6th defenseman and a conditional first rounder!?!?!?!?!?!

How does Feaster not get the 1st as a sure thing? So what if he doesnt resign in Boston? He could sign with 28 other teams next year and it would still cost the 1st. |

Then he just traded the future HOFamer and heart of the team for 2 maybes. He's a disaster. |

I want Holmgren to be all over Calgary. Target Giordano and Glencross.
Iginla more than likely makes his debut against the Flyers. TSN guys are saying it. For (frank)s sake. |

Looking at Boston's cap situation, it's going to be hard to re-sign him.

Actuslly Calgary just pretty much ensured they'll be picking top 3 by trading their captain for a whole bunch of ifs and whathaveyous. |

FEASTER COULD HAVE WAITED ANOTHER (frank)ING WEEK TO SEE IF HE GOT A BETTER OFFER!!!! - Jsaquella
He's (frank)ing crazy.
Honestly makes me feel much better about the Flyers. Even if that pick ends up not being conditional.
Detriot is apparently going hard after J-Bow (Dreger on TSN). Maybe for an octopus? |

Just wrap him in bubble wrap for a week. If I'm the Penguins, I'm on the phone asking if this is indeed all it would take, and then I'd promise to better it and get Iginla myself.
A scout just told a reporter on twitter that the defenseman is probably not as skilled as Chris Butler |

Wouldn't one just assume the GM trading the prize would have placed a call to all interested parties letting them know the details of the trade they were going to accept to give everyone else chance to better it? Isn't that like GM 101? Again, Feaster is a disaster.
Unless Feaster knew ahead of time that he had another potential Chris Butler, that changes everything. |

The Philadelphia Flyers got more for an injury prone and really declining Peter Forsberg.
Zhitnik brought more value than Iginla. |

It's inexplicable. I feel bad for all the fun I'm poking on twitter, because I have a few friends who are Flames fans, and they're livid |
