Reading the Richard Cloutier blog and he has the following to say...The section in italics seems crazy to me.
" It sounds like the Calgary Flames have a deal in place to move Jarome Iginla to Boston. It is believed the Bruins will give up a 1st round pick and two prospects in the deal.
Hold your breath folks...there is an Oilers angle to this.
The Oilers will be dealing defenseman Ryan Whitney, Magnus Paajarvi, and a third asset (Anton Lander perhaps) to the Boston Bruins for Milan Lucic. Then Paajarvi will be shifted to the Flames as part of the Iginla deal.
What is holding up the deal is Danny DeKeyser. The Oilers are waiting for DeKeyser to verify that he's joining the Oilers. Once this occurs, the entire situation will unfold."

I understand how you feel. But I don't think it has anything to do with heart, or folding. If it does, then they have bigger issues then the defense. Playing defense in the NHL is a very tough position to play. When you don't get support and the team as a whole is as bad defensively as the Flyers are. Twice as difficult. - MJL
Teams seem to know that if you put enough pressure on this team they crack.
One of the things that really concerned me was seeing the teams's record vs the rags and devils. It is awful.
I think that over the summer there needs to be some real changes to the team. From the total organization. What type of team do they want to be and own it, don't change every year. Build a identity. There are some really solid players on this team hat seem to not know who they are or how to play the game. The D is a mess, it needs to be completely overhauled. But bigger then the players is the identity of this team and coach to it. Have answers. |

I don't care how old he is. He still plays at a level well above 3rd pair. And they're paying him 6M next year. Timonen is going to be used in all situations next year, and used a lot. Look at how Boston is using Hamilton. Lots of offensive zone starts. Keeping him away from top lines. Hard to do that with a young defenseman if he's going to be paired with Timonen. - MJL
I respect Timonen big time but he has clearly lost a step. On a good team he'd be 2nd pair guy; on a cup team he'd anchor the 3rd pair, play on the pp and move up to the 2nd pair late in games. |

The Bruins vs Habs game is pretty damn good.
What would it take , realistically , to get Subban besides the Canadians being dumb and willing to trade him. - opeth_pa
a yr ago, when i proposed trading a guy like schenn for him, about half the folks here were opposed... some vehemently. we have to project a guy who may be having a down yr if he is young enuf and has a certain pedigree. that's our best chance to snag a top pair guy, imo.
a guy like Tyler myers sucks right now, but... |

Anyone that was against trading for Subban was clearly not looking at the talent he brings in a position we needed even then.
I can't believe their is a single Flyers fan that would not want him and if their is then they are blind. |

I'd agree with that. It changes all the time to be honest, but I've got a little thing for Ryan Ellis lately. Having a down year for Nashville, but has a lot of that word we all love, potential.
If the Preds would even be willing to talk, Id look to make a deal. Myers imo will cost Coots + |

That is more based on saying they finish with the 4th selection, that would be better odds on taking Barkov |

Pretty jealous of Boston if they indeed get Iginla, not cause I think the Flyers should get him, just always been a fan of his. Must be nice to be in their situation where the trade deadline help is a guy like Iginla, I would root for him in the playoffs, great player. |

And since Barkov just wrecked his wrist, he seems like the perfect Flyer. |
