With Mez now done for the year basically they should secure a top 3 pick!
Ian Epsilen just did a mock draft in his blog , here is are the top 10.
1- Florida Seth Jones Portland (WHL) D 6'3/208
2- Colorado Jonathan Drouin Halifax (QMJHL) LW 5'11/185
3- Philadelphia Nathan MacKinnon Halifax (QMJHL) C 6'0/182
4- Calgary Sean Monahan Ottawa (OHL) C 6'2/186
5- Tampa Bay Aleksander Barkov Tappara (FIN) C 6'2/205
6- Buffalo Valeri Nichushkin Chelijabinsk 2 (RUS) LW 6'4/196
7- Phoenix Elias Lindholm Brynas (SWE) C 5'11/181
8- Washington Nikita Zadorov London (OHL) D 6'5/230
9- Edmonton Darnell Nurse Sault Ste. Marie (OHL) D 6'3/189
10- Carolina Hunter Shinkaruk Medicine Hat (WHL) C/RW 5'11/174
I don't think you can go wrong with 1 of the top 3 but man Jones would make this season worth it. Then they need to figure out a way to trade for Byfuglien level dman or another high first to get Nurse go from there.
Somethign has to happen and I am sure they will address it ..they need a number 1 and 2 dman .. - opeth_pa
I like Nichushkin due to his size and playing on the wing, but i have a hard time seeing the Flyers going that route. |

His shoulder is F'd. His career is done. I saw the play last night and it was a incidental pick he set as Schenn wheeled up ice from behind the net. It could've been called an interference penalty but wasn't. If that kind of contact seperates your shoulder, pack it in. - flyguy12

Not here to start any crap, but a quick question? Why is everybody on this site(well may be not everybody but a majority) of you so opposed to dealing couturier? If there is a deal out there to be made for Bobby Ryan, why not pull the trigger? In my opinion, what Giroux is lacking is a true scorer to play along side of him. |

The Mezsaros news sucks.
Would they have to put him on long term injury reserve for the duration of his deal if he cannot come back from this shoulder injury?
What a season this has been. |

Because if Couturier meets his potential, he'll be a much, much better player then Bobby Ryan is. Ryan is so overrated by many. The issue with the Flyers is how they play. Especially defensively. Not a lack of talent on the Wings.

I think they need a puck moving defenseman more then a scoring winger Ryan, so I personally would go that route if they have to trade Couts.
I like Ryan and they could use another scoring winger but the need on D is much greater. |

They would. But they obviously need to figure out medically how to fix or strengthen that shoulder. Because it obviously can't take a lot of punishment.

There's also the fact that you're only getting two years of Ryab. He's worth a look in free agency, but the trade value isn't great for a non-contender. |

Drewske is similar, younger, and might be cheaper |

Andrej Meszaros is out indefinitely again with a shoulder injury suffered last night. Have to wonder if his season is indeed over. - opeth_pa
Is this a joke? Holy poop this guy is made of (frank)ing glass. |

Add in that Anaheim will want more than just Couturier for Ryan and it just doesn't work out. |

We'll see who will be the defenseman flavor of the day next week.
Drewske actually wouldn't be a bad choice as a depth player. |

Definitely a factor, I'd want + coming back for Couturier anyways. It's the square block and the circle slot. |

Gustafsson, Foster, and Gervais. Three 7th defensemen in the same lineup, and when the next guy goes down, Lilja will be added to the mix.

we all know Homer will trade the 2nd pick for something |

If the Flyers even have Meszaros as part of their plans next season, they have to have their heads examined.
Hooray, another player that should be bought out. |

It's kind of hard to admit, but I want this season done already, and I think the team does as well.
Takes us to the draft, and makes moves in the summer. |

He has 5 months to get ready. Need to see what the prognosis and Medical evaluation is. Can't buyout an injured player.

At this point, who really cares. The season is over. I don't mind Gustafsson playing, he should have been playing all along instead of Gervais. |
