Striet played really well last night
- Danformo

Agreed...he played well. I think Bailey was actually pretty hard on the team when he said they didn't deserve to win...I think a lot of guys did what needed to be done. Two goals they gave up were stoppable, particularly the second one. When they got pinned in their own zone, it was because of bad matchups...first line and Carkner out against Ovechkin's line was the big one in the first -- I think Washington had about 2+ straight minutes in the zone because of that.

But otherwise, I thought they carried the play for the most part.

Carkner is a first pairing Dman of course when paired with Streit

That 2 straight minutes you're referig to was due to 3 failed clearing attempts by MOulson/Boyes

One by Carkner too...had the puck on along the boards with no one around him and clear skies ahead, and rather than going up the boards, he inexplicably tapped the puck toward the middle, right to Washington's point man.

Hockey basics 101....I think hockey coaches teach kids to go up the boards when clearing the zone before they teach them what offsides is.

I never realized how bad Carkner is. I was happy when they signed him because of his toughness but I didn't know he was that bad If they would have gotten finley before the UFA period they would have never signed him

The guy was a healthy scratch in Ottawa more often than not then blammo! He comes to the Islanders and he's a first pairing Dman. See, dreams do come true on Long Island.

im not wasting my comments on Reasoner. That guy should not be in the NHL let alone on the Islanders.

I see the Bailey Haters are lessening here. Bailey just needs to keep shooting.

Bailey needs to find consistency in his game. He is a much better player than Okposo could ever hope to be. Okposo will be the same player no matter where he goes where as Bailey I feel will thrive under a better coach and playing consistently with better players. Hope he stays like i always have.

I did'nt watch him a ton or anything just knew he was'nt the most servicable defensman as he was being sold to Isles fans. The way he's being utilized with our club is laughable. He's bad, especially when out against the opposing teams first line. At this point I think this team is still in the "playoff hunt" in spite of Capuano. It looks like sometimes he's trying to lose.
