Not quite.....Penguins fans are the most arrogant in the league!!!

I kid, I kid....hope the bandwagon isn't full, you guys gained a whole city of fans.

P.S. Just ordered the NHL package so I can watch all the games...has anyone from the team suggested any line combinations yet?

- The-O-G

Really ? I'd think this would be very bittersweet, with a heavy emphasis on the bitter. If the Flames could have gotten better return from Boston, isn't there any resentment towards Iginla for not making it a "win/win" for both him and Calgary ? I believe with Iginla that Boston would have been at least co-favorites with the Pens to emerge from the East, so it wasn't as though he would have been agreeing to go to some marginal playoff team.

Shero only said Bylsma will decide. Iginla told them he'd play anywhere they want. I guess it'll be the 1st or 2nd line. Not sure though. Probably safe to say top 6 with Crosby/Kunitz or Malkin/Neal.
- HopintheCordoba

I like...

Kunitz Crosby Dupuis
Neal Malkin Iginla
Cooke Sutter Morrow
Adams Vitale Kennedy

although many people believe Iginla was brought in here for play with Sid, and for good reason. You could come up with about 10 different line combinations and I'm sure they will all be just as effective. I wouldn't be surprised if Bylsma mixes it up as we all know he likes to do...

WB/S goalie Zatkoff being called up

Is this for the 48 hour window to be Vokoun's backup?

Josh Yohe said he had no indication that Fleury would be out long.

I don't blame Iginla at all - if he thought his best chance to win a Cup was in Pittsburgh, that's completely understandable. I believe he would have had an equal chance in Boston, though, and the Flames presumably would have gotten better return from the Bruins. I haven't heard in all of this - could Iginla have blocked the deal to Boston, or had he offically approved Boston as a landing spot ?
- MadCap2008

Being reported that he strongly preffered PIT and Calgary made the trade there out of respect to him.

I'm thinking this is more of a precautionary move to give MAF some rest and a day or two off.

I don't get this - I don't think those guys said they didn't want him, they just thought they'd actually have to part with something more than garbage to get him.

All should be a bit more clear when he does his press conference at 12:30 on TSN.

Feaster did this for Iginla but in Feaster's position it is unfathomable that he would put Iginla's interest ahead of the good of the team. I mean I'm glad he did but it's foolish.

Thought that would be the case. They can't very well have Vokoun play tonight and not have a backup too. The 48 hour window will give them time enough to get to Saturday's game I guess.

Iginla was been loyal to the Calgary organization for quite some time. If there is one guy you're going to do this for to give him the best opportunity to get his name on Lord Stanley, it's Jarome Iginla.

Feaster knows Calgary has no chance, and he also knows that Iginla will be back in a Flames sweater next season.

The rumour around town here is that in the end he blocked the deal to Boston, hence the confusion last night when the words "Pittsburgh" came out of his mouth.

The fact that the Boston deal was said to be "done" also leads me to believe the Flames and Boston had reached an agreement, but Iggy did not sign off on it.

Thinking back to the Hossa trade, it was said after the fact that Shero wasnt sold on giving up the assets it was going to take and that Mario stepped in and gave Shero a bit of a nudge. The Morrow and Murray trades reek of Shero. I wonder how much of a role ownership played in basically telling Shero to load up and go for it with Iginla.

He did anything an everything for that organization I think the fans can understand if he wanted to do something for himself for once he's absolutely earned the right to say where he wants to go

No question. He's been making up for Cal O'Reilly and a quiet deadline last year.

I asked this earlier bonehead ! Could he have blocked the deal to Boston, or had he already approved them as one of his potential landing spots ?

Resentment towards Iggy? He is an absolute GOD here in Calgary. Because you do not live here you won't fully understand the impact he has had in this city, both on and off the ice. His relationship with his fans is much more than what he does on the ice.

You never know. Iginla might enjoy playing with high end talent soo much that he wants to stay here for 2 more years. IF the Pens don't win the cup, he still might be hungry to do so. Too many factors to say it is set in stone that he is going back to Calgary after this season is over.

If this is true, then Feaster's hands were obviously tied and he took the only deal that he could.

sorry.....any deal would have had to been approved by Iggy.....i'm sure the latest push by Pitt to get Morrow and then Murray really swayed Iginla's mind to joining the Penguins as well.

He is one of the most, if not THE most, respected guy in the NHL right now.
